Week 5 WW Defenses (1 Viewer)

I've got SD's D going against Oak right now but am thinking maybe I should plug in Car against Chi. maybe i'm just overthinking things.

I think the biggest question is wether to choice the Panthers or Bears D.

Both should have good weeks. But who has the BEST week?

i had the option of both, and went with CAR.i'm assuming that the CHI OL worked on improving pass protection during this week. but you can only do so much.i can't see Clausen throwing more than 15-20 passes, limiting opportunites for INTs and turnovers while running DWill and JStew upwards of 30 times.i can't see Martz not throwing it even with Todd (Tom) Collins at QB providing what should be ample opportunities for the CAR defense to pick a couple off.i don't see CHI or CAR racking up points on the scoreboard.only benefits i see to CHI are Peppers returning to CAR and the return game (for which I get 1/50 yds).

Although I agree with most of your points, I am still a bit unsure about picking up Car. I wouldn't say it is impossible for the score to be 21-20.. and in most leagues, you don't get any pts when you allow 20 pts or more... so you would only hope to get pts in Int and Sacks... and you might get some of that... but if you get 1 pt per sack and 2 per Int... and I could see Car just scoring 5 or 6 pts.. wondering if I should just go with one of these insteadCin vs TBAlt @ CleSF vs Phi

I picked up Carolina, probably going to play them against the Bears thanks to this thread. I was going to roll with Atlanta but I don't think the Browns really give opposing defenses that many points if Wallace and Hillis are playing. They seem to be picking things up a bit. Though, perhaps it is because the last two games were division but I think the Ravens and Bengals are respectable defenses regardless. The way I see it, I think Carolina could either get a lot of points or very little. Teams like Atlanta and Cincinnati are safer but I don't think they have the same upside Carolina does this week. As for Cincinnati, TB had the bye to prepare and are probably going to run a lot with their young platoon and try to limit turnovers. I wouldn't roll with STL or DET this week since I think the opinion that it's going to be a shootout is more likely considering how well their offenses have been doing lately. Chicago and Chargers would be a good play but they should not be on the waiver. I don't like the Titans vs Dallas since Dallas had the bye to prepare and I think it's just too risky despite how well Titans are doing. I really like the Titans though so I don't think it's too bad of a call but I wouldn't expect a lot of upside. SF is a solid play this week but I don't think Kolb is as bad as everyone thinks. I think SF is in the same tier as Bengals and Falcons this week. Carolina and Chicago are definitely the ones to watch though if you want huge numbers and are a risk taker.

Yeah It's a gamble! I went with CAR over ATL or CIN this week as well! Hopefully it pays off..

Another one for playing Carolina over Cincy...

The Bears may very well run the ball to limit sacks and turnovers, but they SUCK at running the ball. Matt Forte is a very poor back with regards to actually running, in my mind one of the worst 5 starters at actually rushing in the league. So if CHI runs, CAR stops them and they allow almost no points. I could see the score being 9-6 CAR or 13-6 CAR because Martz dropped back one too many times and the Panthers got a defensive TD.
