Week 6 Defensive Team Pickups (1 Viewer)

For return yard leagues I actually like the Raiders and Saints a ton for next week. Miami @ Houston might be a sneaky play as well.

Who else you got?

Not sure I'd trust either the Raider or Saints D -- way too inconsistent at this point.

Would LOVE it if WAS was on my wire.

Thinking that the NYJ have a decent matchup over the next five games, let alone next week. Also like the Colts for next week playing at home vs BAL.

Same here - Indy's defense isn't exactly good, but I don't see Baltimore scoring a ton points.I'm also eyeing Tampa after they shut down Denver last week on the road.ETA: by the way, great to see you back on the boards more these days, STC. :tinfoilhat:

These are the two that I am considering at this point. Colts are definitely a one week fill in and the Jets have a few good matchups coming up, so I am leaning towards Jets as of now.

I could go Carolina @ Tampa, Washington vs. St. Louis, or Jets vs. Cincy. Tough call.

St. Louis is the worst offense, but Washington isn't forcing a ton of turnovers or scoring much on D. Cincy is committing a lot of turnovers, but I'm always scared that they're finally going to start taking advantage of their talent on offense. Carolina, IMO, is probably the best DEF of the 3, but Tampa may be the best offense of the 3 opposing offenses. It will be interesting to see how the cheatsheets rank them this week. I'm going to miss the Titans though.

Washington and NYJ intrigue me - I will let FBGs lead the way, although as a Jets homer I may just go with the home team.

Buffalo is not living up to expectations, and is on bye. Jets not available, so looks like the redskins for me.

I have Car and I'm putting a waiver request in for the Skins def. Car plays TB, then NO and Ari....three pretty solid off. Washington plays StL, Clev, and then Det!!

My thoughts exactly, all three of these D's are on my waiver and I can't decide who to use. I love the matchup for Wash and I typically lean towards teams that play at home but they just haven't done much on D this year. The Jets are also at home but outside of their game against AZ they haven't put many points on the board. Carolina has the best D but they are at Tampa and that is the best O out of the 3 opponents. I guess it's better to have options....after typing this I think I'm going with Washington.

In my league, I've counted up all the fantasy points offenses have surrendered to FF defenses thus far. Here are the averages (your scoring may be different, but this ranking list should be pretty close to any scoring method):

DET - 25.25

KC - 20.6

STL - 19.5

SF - 19

SEA - 18

PIT - 17.8

CIN - 17.6

HOU - 17.25

CLE - 17

NYJ - 16

IND - 15

MIN - 14.8

BUF - 13.8

BAL - 13.75

NE - 13.75

ARI - 13.4

CHI - 13.2

TB - 12.8

SD - 12.6

NO - 12.6

JAX - 12.4

GB - 12.4

CAR - 11.2

PHI - 11.2

OAK - 11

DAL - 9.2

TEN - 9

WAS - 7.6

ATL - 7.6

DEN - 7.4

MIA - 7

NYG - 3.5

I doubt PHI or MIN are on waivers in most leagues, but WAS may very well be, since they haven't started so hot (currently, they are ranked 21st in my league). They have a great matchup vs STL and will be looking to welcome back Marc Bulger.

Now, let's just see why the Redskins D hasn't started well...1 - NYG - 32nd (giving up the least FF points)2 - NO - 20th3 - ARI - 16th4 - DAL - 26th 5 - PHI - 24thAll the offenses they have faced are stingy about giving up FF points to defenses. Let's see how they do against the team that gives up the 3rd most FF points.

Just went back and looked at this....needless to say I'm rolling with Washington this week and not looking back. Keeping my fingers crosses that Shawn Springs is ready to play.

STOP! I'm picked up the Panthers and Jets but now you're swaying me towards dropping the Jets for the Skins. :goodposting:

both my main leagues have pretty deep rosters...20 and 21 so not a lot of the defenses mentioned are available....

I am putting in a request for Saints.....they are at home against Raiders

i liked the way they stopped the run against the Vikings which is the Raiders strength as well and I think Russell is even less of a passing threat then Gus and could turn it over a couple of times.....if Bush does anything on punts it would be gravy.....

I hate D's!!! I freakin dropped the Vikes who hadn't done anything for the Pats because of matchups. The Vikes get picked up and now I'm scrambling for another D.

Go figures

Me too. Had the Vikes in 2 leagues. Dropped them in one for the Pats. Didn't bite me. Couldn't drop them in the other and they won it for me. Seemed like a good idea at the time. You just never know when they're going to get a TD. Other than week 3 (and now week 5) they've been a disappointment.

Anyone out there sticking with the Pats D this week against the Chargers? Tomlinson toe turf hardly 100 percent, beat up OL that Miami dominated, Chambers out, and Gates dinged.

Anyone think they are a good play this week? Yes or no?
