***Week 6*** Denver at New England -7.5 (44.5) (1 Viewer)

Drew Lock has zero pocket presence again today
I disagree.  He took one costly sack where the pressure came up the gut with no warning.

Ive been think in the opposite actually - Lock looking impressive - he's mobile, getting the ball out quickly, and throwing deep.  What we really need is an intermediate passing game -slants, shallow crossers, etc.  I assume that's what Belichick has taken away this week.

I didn't like how he started going down to a knee on the sack, he's going to get hurt the way he got bent under the defender, he's opening himself up to injury.
that is how he has been hurt 2x already. not just taking sacks, but having no idea how to go down on a sack or hit.

he is still drifting to the right and bailing the pocket too much in addition to taking that massive sack that McAnus bailed him out on.

A guy with Rypien's poise and mind to go with Lock's skills set. Boom.

BTW, I keep hearing these announces bemoan the pats injuries while ignoring Denver has more payroll on IR than the rest of the league.

Gene just looked at Gilmore hold on the Replay and said he didn't see him holding as he clearly has his hands on the Receiver...I didn't learn nothing except that these Ref cut ins to the booth are a total waste of time

The Patriots looks like a team that had a ton of opt outs, injuries, guys on the COVID list, and haven’t practiced for 2 weeks.
and are playing against a team that has had opt outs, injuries, a QB coming off injury, and had its entire schedule upset by the patriots. the excuses don't really fit here.

Not really meant to be excuses. Just the way things are in the 2020 season. At least Denver was able to practice for two weeks preparing for NE (and it shows).

Nobody feels the slightest bit bad for New England but by all means keep whining.  You'll eventually persuade everybody that way.

Missing best pass rusher, WR, CB, TE, and (in theory) RB.

Eta: DL too (in theory)

Of course, the first three quarters only exist to set the stage for New England's inevitable 16-15 victory.  (They'll go for two on the second TD, which fails just to emphasize how badly Denver has let them hang around).

sounds like the usual Fangio-era script

WTF is Denver doing!? Two straight deep passes to the same guy that are picked off? It’s just about the only thing you CAN’T do on offense at that point.

Nice job by Denver to pull New England back to the rest of the pack and that #7 playoff spot continues to look like maybe 8-8/9-7 might get in.
