Week 6 Venting Thread (1 Viewer)

Someone in my league scored a grand total of 7 points after starting Grossman (-18) and the San Fran DEF (-27).

Was going into last night's game down by 5 with Grossman still to go. We give 1 pt per 25 yds and 6 pt per TD so I was feeling pretty comfortable. However we also give -3 or interception/fumble lost. Grossman ended up giving a -15 score! What hurt even more was Delhome's 19 points sitting on the bench.

I know , I know . . . the "point to the shirt" is on its way!

I was up by 3 with no one left. My opponent had Grossman so of course I figured I was done.

:pickle: :pickle: :pickle: New Grossman fan! :pickle: :pickle: :pickle:

The best part is that I am sure some of the people who started him just got around to drinking the Gross-Ade and this is the first time they pulled the trigger to put him in the lineup.

I was down by one point going into last night's game, 76-77. He had no one left and I had Desmond Clark & Rex Grossman. I got three points from Desmond Clark, which would have given me the win, except for the -10 from Rex. Unbelievable.

Happy to oblige. :) :ptts:

I have both Leinart and Grossman on my team. I was down by 4.

Would ANYONE have started Leinart over Grossman in that situation?

i started him ... luckily i had already lost that week though. if i would have lost because of his performance i would probably quit fantasy football

I started Grossman ... and Muhammad. And in the most boneheaded move I've ever made, I started Cotchery instead of Boldin.I just had my worst fantasy week ever.
Just had my worst fantasy week ever as well and for that to come in a week so many players had outstanding performances and in a league were playoffs are based on total points is devastating.I've got Brady and Grossman as my QB's and have started Brady every week this year until this past week when I had to start Grossman due to the bye. I also have Muhammad. Other than that I started Ronald Curry while Mark Clayton and Keenan Mcardell sat on my bench in a PPR league.

2 teams in my league matched up. One guy was ahead by 38 points. He was starting Grossman his opponent the Bears D. Grossman lost him ~17 points and the Bears D scored 22. He lost by less than a point.

I was up 102 to 99.

He had no players left to go, I had Grossman and Adrian Wilson. There is a weekly proze pool for total points every week, so of course I left them both in. Then grossman ####s the bed for -10. Thank God A Wilson got me 8 points to counterfeit all but -2. I ended up winning only by 1 point.
Thank God you didn't get disqualified for counterfeiting.

He's lucky, counterfeiting is -2 in my league. He would have lost.

Yep, lost by 4 points after Grossman scored -20. Even better, this is the second game this season I've lost only because my QB scored negative points. In week one I lost by 2 points with Plummer scoring -7. I'd actually have a better record this year if I had never started a QB.

:bag:

I was one of those people who had Grossman on my bench until last week when Cin. had a bye. Grossman did well for me last week so I decided to start him this week. He got me -11.90. This is worse than when he was on my bench on week 2 when he got 4 touchdowns and no interceptions.

:wall:

Slight hijack. Last year during the fantasy playoffs, I lost in Week 15, or so I thought. I was down by a few points going into the Monday night game. My opponent had the Green Bay defense left. The Packers played the Titans and proceeded to lose something like 45 to 3. The negative defensive points were enough for me to overcome the difference. I went on to win the Championship the following week.

Now that's lucky...

The 7th best team in my league has Grossman and was trailing the best team by 8. Grossman got a league record -18 to ruin any upset hopes.

A few years ago a guy had a lead with Favre going on Monday while his opponent was done. Bret pulled one of his 4 pick, 1 TD games and he wound up losing. We submit lineups on Sunday and aren't allowed to bench guys on the Monday night game.

First time venter

I was up by 58 going into MNF. He has Boldin and the Chicago D going. Despite Boldin's huge game, and despite Chicago's first defensive TD, I was still up by several points.

When they got the second defensive TD, I was still up by a few points.

Then they score the third TD, Boldin gets a few more catches and yards since Zona is now playing catchup, and I lose by 6.

I can't remember having a worse bad beat in FF.

Oh yeah, I was up by 18 with Grossman and T. Jones going, all he had was Adrian Wilson and Gould. I lost by 2 points, could hardly sleep last night. And I had Eli and Bledsoe on the bench too. I think I'm going to be sick again.

I have Grossman and Brady. Brady on a bye so I had Grossman in. After the Sunday games, I was up 2 with no one left to play but Grossman and he had no one left to play at all.

I benched Grossman, started Brady.

You benched Boldin? Have you seen him play? Dear God.

I had a 13 point lead going into Monday night with Thomas Jones AND Muhammad yet to play. He had Arizona D... Who wudda thunk? :wall:

Puh-lease... Boldin hasn't exactly been on fire this year. I think the "Dear God" is a little much.

I overestimated the matchup. I benched McGahee last week against the Bears and it paid off with a victory. I simply misplayed this one. On the plus side, no matter what lineup I played, I was going to lose this week.

Not Grossman related but similar...I scored a ton of points this week (second highest in my league for the week), up by 25, no one left and my opponent only has the Bears D left. I lost by 1 point as a result of that punt return TD. 3 defensive/special teams TD's?? Are you kidding me?? :wall:

Went to bed ticked off and in disbelief that I lost my game by 1 point after the week I had.

Grossman set a record in my league for worst single game performance ever: -7. (no, he's not on my team)
Me too.I was down by 15 points with both Grossman (starting for the 1st time for me this year) and Boldin to go and my opponent done. For awhile Grossman was giving up pts as fast as Boldin was scoring them. Grossman ended up at -7 and Boldin at + 29, would have been real mad if Grossman's deducts had cost a win.

this is honestly the stupidist thing i have ever heard of in fantasy football.let's see, you have a heisman winning QB with Fitz out, so he will only be looking to Boldin all game long. the cardinals have no running game so they have to throw constantly.and you bench him for crotchery.lmFAo

I'll add to this thread.

I'm up by 25 in a big divisional game - winner moves into sole possession of 1st place.

Going into the monday night game I have no one left, my oppenent has the bears d. It's late in the 4th I'm winning by 5...thinking I'll probably squeak this one out...I mean the bears already scored 2 defensive td's, they can't possibly get another one right?? Then Hester returns that punt and my stomach begins to drop. Un-freakin-believeable!!!! :wall: I lose my game by 1 point. My biggest mistake was benching shockey for witten last minute sunday morning....otherwise would have won.

Entering Monday night, I'm down one point. He has Boldin, I have Grossman, Muhsin, Gould, Bears Defense. Lost by ten.

Worst. Lost. Ever.

If it makes your decision feel any better, someone in my league benched Steve Smith for Cotchery.

Don't know if this counts, but it still makes mhead hurt --

Went to bed Sunday night up 104-102 in a battle of the top two teams. Check scores Monday night and I'm down 102-100 as two sacks were taken away from Pittsburg

....Instead of being alone at the top of the league I'm now in a 3-way tie for 2nd, one loss from being in a tie for 4th.

Joel

I was down 10 points going into the MNF game with Grossman still to play....

no problem, he's averaging over 20 a game and playing a weak ARZ defense, chalk it up as a win.

NOT

He gave me a whopping -6.00 with his 4 Int/2 Fum game.

.

In another league I started Az Hakim instead of Joe Horn....wtf was I thinking!
