**WEEK 9 WAIVER PICKUPS** (1 Viewer)

Blount and BGE if they're still available.

James Jones - looking real good this week if Driver sits.

Nate Burleson - possible sneaky PPR play going forward.

Anthony Gonzalez/Blair White - should one of them emerge tonight.

He had a horrible game this week. I hope you're right though.
I talked about this in the Jones thread. I think the two main reasons why he flopped this week were 1) he's simply a very inconsistent player who has focus issues at times and 2) having to play outside was a bad matchup for him against the Jets. The matchup gets much easier this week against the Cowboys so I think Jones could rebound. And if Driver's quad injury continues to be problematic Jones will be involved each week. I'm not sure he'll ever be consistent enough for fantasy owners to rely on him from week to week. But if he's in position to have a prominent role (which should be the case this week), I like his chances as an upside play.

Washington's RB situation should be monitored, but being on a bye week I don't think we'll be getting alot of information. Williams in deep leagues is probably a worthy pickup.

For those who have lost Finley or Clark and are still scrambling for a TE replacement, or more recently for Zach Miller owners, Vincanthe Shiancoe could be a great pickup. I'm assuming many owners dropped him following the Vikings' acquisition of Moss and that he's floating around on a lot of waiver/free agent wires.

Remember, Shiancoe had a couple big games (4-76-1 and 6-86-0) early in the year and was a key cog in the Minnesota passing game pre-Moss. With Randy (most definitely) on his way out of town, I wouldn't be surprised to see a return to that.

For Zach Miller owners who don't have a backup, Anthony Fasano is a must pickup.
why?
I didn't know why either, looked him up:Zach Miller (RotoWire) Though Miller was on crutches Monday as the result of a sore foot, coach Tom Cable expects the tight end to play against the Chiefs on Sunday, Vittorio Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Analysis: That sounds promising, but the sight of Miller using crutches Monday should be enough for his owners to monitor his status as the week rolls along.

Miller's on crutches. I expect him to be out this weekend.
so what does Anthony Fasano have to do with that?
No connection. It's just that Fasano is the best TE on my waivers in my leagues. I have Heap as my backup so I will go with him. But if I needed a backup Fasano could be ok.

Raider Tight End Zach Miller was spotted on crutches today at the Raiders facility. The Pro Bowl caliber TE suffered a foot injury during Oakland’s win over Denver but played yesterday against Seattle. Miller made one catch early on and uncharacteristically dropped another soon after, then disappeared for the remainder of the game. Miller was observed hopping noticeably after one play in the 2nd quarter and was clearly not the same athlete he has been. Official word is Miller has an arch injury. He's a professional and a gamer but likely shouldn't have played yesterday.

so your your definition of must pickup only pertains to your league and situation. cuz fasano is WW fodder.

Quarterback:

Troy Smith: His statline was not all that impressive, but he led the Niners to a win, and he played well. If you are in a dynasty league, Smith's value is increased.

Runningbacks:

Mike Hart: With injuries to both Addai and Donald Brown, Hart will get significant touches. His value may be short-term.

LaGarrette Blount: If he is still out there, get him. He does not play on most passing downs, so his value in PPR leagues is slightly lower, but he has had impressive outings the past two games.

Kevin Smith: Smith will continue to share carries, giving him flex value, and Smith's value will increase significantly if Best's injuries sideline him.

Toby Gerhart: Gerhart ran with speed and power Sunday. He is a solid outlet receiver, and with Harvin injured and Moss waived, Gerhart may see more touches.

Wide Receivers:

Brandon Tate: It is difficult to tell from week to week who Brady will favor. Tate is a home run threat and will make the most of his touches.

Darrius Heyward-Bey: Bey finally had a nice game. He is far from a reliable fantasy wideout, but his ceiling is sky high.

Brandon Gibson: Trying to figure out who (aside from Amendola) will step up in St. Louis is difficult, but this week it was Gibson. Why not?

Tight End:

Jacob Tamme: Tamme steps in to the Dallas Clark role. While he is not Dallas Clark, he does have some receiving skills and he does have Peyton manning throwing him the ball.

Crayton if somehow available plays vs HOU

Id even consider starting the other SD WR (Arishomutututututu or whatever the #### is the other starter) HOU is horrible vs the pass

fwiw Hart Hobbled this week. Tamme looking great though..couple RZ looks with 1 for a TD..Makes me :excited: as a Clark owner.. What about James Davis?

but if vernon davis misses significant time

DELANIE WALKER A MUST ON

5rec 85yds after davis went out in denver game

" 49ers | Vernon Davis injured Week 8, doubtful to return Sun Oct 31, 02:12 PM

San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis (ankle) suffered an ankle sprain Week 8 against the Denver Broncos and is doubtful to return, reports Matt Barrows, of The Sacramento Bee.

Our view: The bye couldn't come at a better time for Davis. Hopefully he'll be ready for week 10."

" 49ers | Vernon Davis active for Week 8 Sun Oct 31, 11:41 AM

San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis (ankle) is active for the team's Week 8 game against the Denver Broncos, reports Matt Maiocco, of CSNBayArea.com. Davis was limited during practice all week and listed as questionable for the game."

it seems to be a lingering issue and we all know about the knee :goodposting:

Javaris James probably next in line for featured RB carries in Indy with Hart injured. Donald Brown did not look good at all last night. Ran like Portis.
