Weekly Salary Cap Strategies (1 Viewer)

Hope this is in the right forum. Not sure where else to put this.

Was wondering if you guys had experiences with weekly salary cap football games. For example, Fanduel.com has head to head games and games with 5+ people to compete against. They have 55k, 60k, and 65k salary caps with the 55k being an expert league. I have never played but was wondering if anyone here has and if so, have you been successful. If so, what is the best strategy to utilize to maximize your salary? Do you focus on RBs and WRs? Do you spend a certain percentage on RBs/WRs while going after lowered tiered TEs/Ks/Ds? Do you strictly play matchups? Would really like to hear from someone that has had alot of success at this. Seems like could make some decent money and have some fun with it. Thanks all.

Dont get a top end QB, get a 2nd tier QB with great matchup... i.e. Cassel or CutlerCheap TE, PKDEF - same as QBAssuming 2 RB/3WRGet 1 stud RB/WRAfter this you wont be able to afford 3 more top end players... so u have to play matchups here.Look for those cheap players with best opportunity... i.e. if Peterson is out, Gerhart would be a good pick

Agreed. In Fanduel specifically, TD passes are only worth 4 points and there is no PPR. Make your adjustments accordingly.

Easy way to try FanDuel for free and have a shot at winning some money: http://www.fantasypros.com/2010/11/beat-sigmund-bloom/

I played in the last two contests thrown by FantasyPros/FanDuel. I think the key thing to realize is that they set their player values based on Ave. Points per Week (I think). So, there are really some clear value opportunities if you eyeball all the players.

For a big multi-player contest, I think you need to swing for the fences. Start guys with big upside. For a heads up competition, you could probably go more conservative, favoring guys that will definitely produce and get their touches. I can't wait to see what team Sigmund Bloom puts together. They publish the expert's team after the contest which is pretty cool.

My only gripe so far is that - like most leagues - the scoring settings make defenses and kickers worth too much. If you got rid of those positions or at least reduced how many points they generate, I think some of the "luck" involved would get squeezed out.
