What would it take to pry Welker away from you in ppr? Would you take Calvin straight up? Ray Rice? Something else?

i dont have him but i might consider rice. but honestly welker is on fire its really hard to part with him unless your stacked at that position and lacking elsewhere

And for the record I don't have Calvin or Rice, this isn't an assistant coach question. I don't think anyone is always untradable but Welker might be as close to it as you can get in PPR.

Welker is obviously on fire. But, considering the amount of hits....and his size..........I'd still be more comfortable with the big boys like Fitz and Calvin Johnson. Before last Sunday.....I'd have included A.J. on that list as well. A guy like Roddy White isn't getting it done........YET.........but, Julio Jones is on hot and that should open things up a bit for Roddy and his deep thigh bruise.

I don't know... Welker has had similar success in years past, in terms of receptions. His yards and TDs are up this year, and some of that comes from Welker running more down the field routes than years past. He's been remarkably injury free considering the hits he takes. The one injury he did have was a non-contact ACL ( which cost 1 playoff game ). Injuries happen, but thus far, Welker has held up well over the middle. There is no reason to expect he'll stay on this pace, but there is little reason to doubt he'll be in the 110+ catch range. And with the 2 TE sets taking some of the underneath routes, his YPR should be at a career high this year. He's as safe a WR in PPR as you can get.

In PPR redraft there isn't a player I'd take for him. But I'd take a package of a great WR and strong RB.

In PPR dynasty, probably a guy like Rice, CJ+, or maybe depending on scoring, Aaron Rodgers.

I own him in 3 leagues, the FBG contest (obviously can't trade), a dynasty where I don't really need anything so he's untradeable, and a redraft where I'd take a guy like Fitz and an upgrade at RB.

I have him in .5 PPR dynasty and it would take a ridiculous offer to rip him from my kung-fu grip. He isn't untradeable...that would be silly to say. I'd have to be balled over though. Ray Rice, or megatron sounds about right. Although I'd probably not trade him straight up for megatron. I dunno...Im just not trading him unless I have to bc of injuries or whatever. It's a silly thought. It's like saying would you trade AP or Rice....you just wouldn't. Welker is performing like a 1st round pick and there's no reason to believe he will stop. He has single-handedly won 2 close matchups for me already in 4 weeks. Well, him and newton.

I have him but I suspect he may regress back to a WR 2 play this week versus Jets. He's still a beast, but I could see a 5 for 60 yard day next Sunday.

He's been a monster fourth round pick for me though!

Friend of a friend is buddies with Welker and says the dude is dialed in this season for his contract year. All business all the time. I don't anticipate much of a letup barring injury, which Bruschi made a good observation that Welker is protecting himself a lot more this year to avoid the hit, just going down or out of bounds (noticed him do that a few times last week).

I honestly think 2,000 yards is within reach if he stays healthy.

I traded him for A.Foster before week 3 (i.e., before his 50 point week and while Foster was still out). I'd imagine that trade value is similar now, given Welker's continued dominance and Foster's demonstration of healthy play in week 4.

I would trade him for Calvin Johnson. Only for late season/ff playoff purposes. When NE turns into an ice field and the passing game slows down... I would feel more comfortable having Calvin in a dome.

Through 4 games he is on pace for a 160/2464/20 season.

This isn't wildly unprecedented for Welker. In 2007 he had a stretch of 11/124/2, 9/138/2, 9/89/1, 5/38/1 for a pace of

134/1556/24- and the first 3 of those games pace out to 155/1871/27

He finished 2007 at 112/1175/8

In 2009 he had a stretch of 8/86/1, 10/150/2, 10/107/1- and those 4 TDs were the only 4 TDs he scored the entire season even though he had 6 games of 9 or more catches the rest of the season (he only played 14 games that year).

Welker is massively on fire right now, and will clearly finish the season as a top PPR WR, if not THE top WR, but it shouldn't take an insane offer to get you to part with him as his number the rest of the season are likely to be in the 5th-15th WR range rather than the top 1-4 range.
