I'm not the brightest bulb on the xmas tree, but wouldn't you think you could put a linebacker and a corner or something on Welker and just not let him off the line of scrimage? Die a slow death of them running the ball rather than fast death of Welker gouging you play after play.

Linebackers do try to cover him. He's too quick for them. Plus, he and Brady are on the same page and know where the ball is going. Tough to cover.
