"Well" and "yeah" on ESPN/NFLN/etc. (1 Viewer)

Maybe this is weird, maybe not. But if you pay close attention you won't be able to un-hear it.

I have discovered that field reporters, I'd say 80-90% of the time, will begin their first sentence with either the word "yeah" or "well".

This is like when the studio host feeds them some background info and then the field reporter starts going into their schpiel. ESPN and NFL-N for the most part, since that's all I watch.

Seriously, it's uncanny.

Well, thanks, Nirad. I spoke to the coach before the game and he stressed that they needed to be focused on all facets of the game. When I asked what the biggest factor would be in this game, the coach said "Preparation." I think they are going to be ready for this one. Nirad, back to you.

"I don't have the mental ability to form a question that leads to the answer I want to fill the gap in the story I've already composed before this interview even started, so, I'm just going to blatantly ask you Can you talk about this player and what his game today means?" Ugh

'Well yes he is good and this game is a big win for us'

"Yeah perfect that's exactly the sound bite I need to wrap my video package and also will make a great 2-second tweet. Thanks"
