Wells Week 3 (1 Viewer)

All I could find so far....

Cardinals' Beanie Wells is back in action

The Arizona Cardinals beat the St. Louis Rams in Week 1 without the help of running back Beanie Wells, but coach Ken Whisenhunt says that Wells will return to practice this week as the Cards prepare to take on the Atlanta Falcons, according to AZCardinals.com.

The 2009 first-round pick out of Ohio State has been out with knee trouble, but the team is surely looking forward to his return since fellow running back Tim Hightower fumbled the ball twice in last week’s game.

Last year, Wells carried the ball 176 times for 793 yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season.

Sounds about right. Again.

Beanie will be the man very soon. I will probably sit him this week and see how he does. I think he will get better and better each week, then by around week 6, he will put up top 10 numbers for the remainder of the season.
I wish you luck with that projection.

From his twitter: BeanieWells26

Lookin forward to getting back out there on Sunday...Thanks for all the support the past 2 weeks.

Cardinals fans can stay home and watch Beanie Wells Sunday

Up one week and down the next. Maybe the Cardinals really aren’t so different without Kurt Warner.

While Arizona tries to get over an embarrassing loss to the Falcons, we’ve got a couple of items that should make Cardinals fans smile.

1. The game is now officially a sellout. No blackout necessary. (Although it’s not a great sign the Cards are struggling to draw after winning playoff games in back-to-back years.)

2. Beanie Wells should make his season debut on Sunday, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. Wells did more at practice Thursday and is expected to suit up against the Raiders. He’s not yet in “football shape” so look for Tim Hightower to continue to play a big role.

Arizona’s offense is bound to get better during the year as Wells, Larry Fitzgerald, and even Early Doucet gets back to full health. Their problems at offensive tackle will be tougher to correct.

per Chris Mortensen:

Ken Whisenhunt reminds that even though Beanie Wells will play, bur not in real FB shape. Whiz also revealed Wells had knee scope.

What? Does this mean he had the scope done and that is why he has been out or did he just have the scope done over concern that he isn't healing up? I don't like the sound of this. If he is not in FB shape leave him out for a week. I don't him to go in halfway prepared and get hurt. We saw what that did to Revis.

Beanie Wells had a surgery no one knew about

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 24, 2010 3:59 PM ET

It's difficult to keep secrets in the NFL, but the Cardinals did a nice job hiding that running back Beanie Wells had knee surgery a few weeks back.

Wells told Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic that the surgery was to repair a torn MCL. Wells was listed as questionable on the injury report the last two weeks, but it appears the Cardinals may have been targeting Week Three for his return all along.

Now we know we why.

"He cleaned it out, but it wasn't like a normal procedure where you are down 'X' amount of weeks," coach Ken Whisenhunt said on Friday.

Wells is expected to suit up for Arizona's home opener against the Raiders Sunday, but Whisenhunt wouldn't guarantee it.

This looks to be the exact quote from Beanie to Kent Somers:

Beanie Wells: "I had my knee scoped, I had to take some time off and I'm back from it. It was a torn meniscus."

yes, and meniscus clean up is WAY less complicated than MCL issues. Still not good news for the longer term.here's hoping for around 13/60/1 (and NO FUMBLES) and maybe a catch or two - on his way back.

Did anyone see the game? Wells had more carries than Hightower and a nice average ypc of 5.35 with 14 carries for 75 yards.
