It was a very cool awards banquet last night at the Anatole in Dallas. Started with the VIP room where Reggie Bush met with everyone that wanted to shake his hand. Eddie George, Larry Johnson, Trevor Cobb and Luke Staley were there (prior winners) along with Dat Nguyen and Jason Witten. Several older retired players were there as well such as Bob Lilly and Drew Pearson. Jim Swink won the Doak Walker Legends award. I didn't know who he was - old TCU runningback that was a stud in college. He finished 2nd for the heisman '55 I believe, then gave up football to become an orthopedic surgeon.

Reggie was bigger than I thought he would be, and very very gracious. Corso, Fowler and Herbstreit were hilarious. Fowler seemed to have hit the sauce because he was digging on everybody.

All in all a great night and I will definitely be going back in the coming years.

Whatever happened to Luke Staley? I remember the Detroit media pimping him a few years ago. It appears as though he never got an NFL carry. Must have been a down year for RB's...
