Westbrook 32 carries Sunday (previous career high—26) (1 Viewer)

Westbrook had 32 carries Sunday as the Eagles relied on a ground game with a hurt McNabb. With McNabb questionable at best for Sunday

what's in store for Westy against the juggernautian :hophead: Patriots this Sunday and beyond?

IMO this guy is way too slight to be rushing 30 times a game. I'd much rather see him get 20 carries and 10 catches since he's theoretically out of (most) traffic when he catches the ball.

We know Westbrook will do whatever's asked of him. I just hope Reid doesn't ask too much of him between the tackles.

Other thoughts?

I was a bit alarmed when I saw the final stats. The guy is a WARRIOR, but there was quite a bit of doubt on his status leading up to that game. As stated in the earlier post..........use him while you've got him, and PRAY. :hophead:

considering how few carries that Westbrook has had in his career and because he steps out of bounds instead of taking the hit, Westbrook should be fine.

If McNabb sits this weekend against the Pats, what can we expect from Westy? Obviously this would reduce the overall effectiveness of the offense, and I think Westbrook will be hard pressed to gain 100 all purpose yards without #5.

You always start Westbrook. Everybody knows that. I dont think that has anything to do with the original post. Also, I'm not a Westbrook owner.

It definitely concerns me that Westy had that big a workload Sunday. I didnt watch very much of the game although I would imagine if Westy was going to get that many carries it would be against a D like Miami. If he continues to carry the ball that much I think based on his past, injury is a definite possibility. If there is one knock on Westbrook's career it is his susceptibility to injury.

How long can he keep it up? Hard to say. He's been around the amount of total touches he had Sunday for most of his career but catching a pass in open field is different than powering the ball through the middle. It will be interesting to see the gameplan vs NE and because it's on Sunday night everyone will see it. If you're chearing for Philly than you hope McNabb can start but 3 for 11 and 2 picks???

Look for the real Eagles to be exposed primetime Sunday night...

It's a bad thing that he's getting carries? What number is too many? Where's the link showing somebody is going to get injured on carry #32 as opposed to carry #27? If the argument is the more he touches the ball the more he's likely to get injured, why don't the Eagles simply keep him on the bench every week?

I think Westbrook Is gonna blow up, monitor mcnabb injury. He is in an offensive explosion. They pass, they run, they just don't play very well against dallas for a change. If their passing game takes a step back(like the start of this year) then the running game will bust out and his name is westbrook. Long term I think he may stick around as long as emmit smith did. Seems healthy.

What does he usually average a game per touch`s(running and recieving)it must average out to about 30 right??? If so what`s the big deal :goodposting:

He had NO receptions sun.

it's simply a matter of minimizing risk.
