What about Kevin Jones? (1 Viewer)

I completely agree, H.K. I, personally appreciate the insight you bring to the table, and would prefer to direct this conversation back to KJ. As another poster pointed out, the decision of whether or not to play Jones this week is a very tough decision for many fantasy owners. Curious about the Charger defensive line missing practice....is that routine for these guys at this point in the season, or do you think there is a chance guys like Castillo and Williams miss this game? We knew about Merriman being out, which should be a positive for Jones owners, but if Williams sits, then I think the decision to start KJ becomes easier.
Actually, I was looking closer at when the Chargers have the ball.... How will that impact the game, and KJ's numbers?eta: Thanks, btw
Lots of Running and possibly lots of 3 and outs?
There's only ONE 3nOut and he's starting KJ. :lmao:

So H.K., you are speaking in a foreign language man and avoiding predictions, what do you think of K.J. this week vs SD? Big game...yes or no? Predictions on yardage, amount of carries, etc??

The bottom line is that with Mike Martz calling the plays nothing is a sure thing. I have listened to all the Lion pressers and Marinell has blown up three times this year over the lack of running plays.

Two weeks ago the Lions ran three times and got their asses kicked. Plus Jones is running very hard right now and Marinelli loves him..and has stated so a number of times this year.

My personal view is that Jones will get at least 15 rushes, possibly 20 and a few receptions. Much the same as last week. With Roy Williams out I would expect much of the same from here on in.

That makes sense to me as well. I have hardly any choices for my RB2, being between K.J., D.Foster, F.Jackson, and J.Norwood. I think out of default, in order to make the superbowl I have to play K.J. this week.

From your keyboard to Martz's ears...

Bumping for more discussion. I still can't decide what to do with KJ. I am starting to lean towards him over FWP, but know that I am looking at a few more days of agonizing over it.

This is where I am. There's a lot of us in this thread.

Just trying to let people arrive to the same conclusions given the info at hand:1) Even if Rivers and Gates play, they'll do nothing.2) LT may as well take tickets before the game and sell popcorn during it because he will do everything for the Chargers organization this week. He's looking at a 200 total yard day with three scores (one of them is a TD pass)3) The loss of Merriman means little, the Chargers are playing with confidence as a team, they are at home, and they are playing a Lions squad that essentially eliminated itself from the playoffs last week.4) Kitna has been an absolute abortion since the bye week. In past nine games since he has a measly 7 TD passes and 9 INT's (compared to 8 TD passes and 4 INT' in the first four weeks)5) The only way the Lions can hang with SD is to run the ball. The problem is that the Chargers won't let them have it because they'll be playing keep away with LT.

I totally agree with people saying DET need to run the ball to stay in the game.

But I cannot even imagine a match this Sunday.

So Detroit will fall down early and Martz will do the rest, also because I don't believe KJ will be so effective against Chargers.

Bottom line:

No martz calling plays:KJ 18 carries for 75 YDS maybe a GLTd

3 rec for 25 YDS

Martz calling plays KJ 8 carries(first 5 in 2 minutes) 12 YDS

5 Rec. 40 Yds. :lmao:

That's what I meant."I cannot even imagine a match this Sunday"......51-14! SD scored first 6 or 7 drives....and DET falled down very badly and early.Martz calling playsI gave him 3 carries and 4 Yds more........KUDOS TO ME BABE THIS TIME

Well, Detroit's rushing "attack" averages 8.6 ppg on the road vs 17.5 ppg when at home - the largest differential in the league.

Since they are at home and coupling that with KC's poor run defense, I would normally say Kevin Jones should be a good start this week.

HOWEVER, if you REALLY want to project Jones startability, you will need the "Marinelli PO Indicator." This is a measurement of how pi$$ed off he is at Martz over the playcalling of the previous week.

 = Must Start RB1 potential

 = Likely start as a RB2 or Flex

 = Start at own peril

Good point. However Martz can hardly be blamed for lastweeks playcalling. Detroit was down big from the kickoff

The hell he can't. Martz abandoned the run after one series. He also threw more to Cason (after he fumbled) that Kevin Jones.

Can any Detroit homers chime in on if Martz's job is actually in jeopardy?

It's too much to hope for Millan to get canned, but will Martz still be around next year?

Week 16 will it be a good, KJ, week. Against, KC, think so, am starting him, with high hopes.
I agree, but it will be one week too late for me, I lost my game by one point. 5 carries for 16 yards for KJ was the final nail in my coffin!! I had the tiebreakers won, so 20 yards rushing would have been good for a win.  :wall:
