What are FWP owners doing Week 14? (2 Viewers)

He has been decent but not great this season. He doesn't catch passes but Najaeh is out.

The Ravens had a ton of success running the ball on New England - will the Steelers use this blueprint?

Willie's had a couple of tough weeks in a row - I am struggling with the decision to bench him for Rudi Johnson who has a sweet matchup against St Loo.

What are other FWP owners doing?

he has to play. Unless you are just loaded at RB you have no choice.

I am playing him because I really have no other choice.

I do not expect him to do what Willis did. Willis has a better line in front of him right now than Willie does. Willie is likely to get somewhere around 90-100 yards because that is what he just does. But I don't expect him in the endzone, cause he just doesn't this year.

I don't know because Philadelphia did the opposite on NE, and were successful. The Eagles had success throwing the ball against NE, but not running. Westbrook only ran for something like 52 yards against NE, but Feeley threw over 300 yards passing. Willie will get his chances to run, but unless he breaks off a long run, I don't see him making a TD. Their offensive line is just not opening holes for him, and they seem to like to throw it more in the redzone. I don't think I'm going to play Willie this weekend.

I don't think that thread is that relevant to this thread, since the OP of this thread is wondering about FWP based on the success Baltimore had running on NE last night. That thread was before last nights game.
Last nights game doesnt matter in my mind. The poster wants to know what other Parker owners are doing and mine is right there at the top of the linked thread. Parker is on my Bench when Big Ben thinks he has a better chance to pound in the score in the red zone than to hand off to FWP. The matchup is not significant IMO.

I think there's a decent chance of a pretty good game from Willie. Last night was a physical game, and it's a short week for the Pats. In years past, when they started getting soft/exposed on the run then it continued for weeks. Steelers actually showed some signs of opening some holes last week. He needs a FB and needs to follow Faneca. Pats linebackers will blitz run lanes but if they miss big plays abound. I feel good about Willie breaking some long ones this week. Now the end zone? That's another story. I think if Davenport is out FWP is at least a decent options.

Other posters with options such as Rudi Johnson against the Rams should definitely go that route. I have Addai and Parker, without good matchups in the first week of the playoffs. Need Romo, CJ/Welker/Galloway/S. Smith and the Viking/TB D's to pull me through this week.

I've posted this tidbit in another thread:

Seriously considering starting both Chester and ADP next week @ SF, but FWP is capable of breaking a long one at any given moment so I don't know if I'll have the stones to bench him.

Willie Parker is 2nd in the NFL in rushing yet 20th in my Fantasy scoring system (TD's = 6 / 100yds = 3) 80 yds and 0 TD's = 0 for me. Pats have 3rd best D in NFL and are at home. Parker and Pittsburgh's offense has been in a funk as of late.

I'm going to take my chances on Gore this week. Haven't benched Parker since beginning of season and haven't started Gore since like week 2 or 3. Time for a change and probably will be the wrong coaching move.

So you take FWP with a late 1st round draft pick, make the playoffs while enduring his non-production (in terms of TDs), probably starting him every week except his bye, THEN sit him in the first round of the playoffs???

He is probably on my bench for the first week of the playoffs if Portis looks OK. I am hoping he is.

my other options are the bears adp and lynch-i think i am going to wait on lynch and hope the other adp doesnt make me regret it

I was actually considering starting D. Ward this week, he was my #3 behind FWP and Addai. Now I have no choice. But as somebody said above, I endured this season all along and finished 2nd in the reg. season. I likely would have gone FWP anyway. I believe (especially in the FF Playoffs) you ride your studs because eventually they break out of their funk. (You listening Willie?)

I have Tomlinson but may used White in lieu of FWP this week as its playoff time for heavy TD scoring league..... Clearly Pitt has no interest in running the ball in the red zone unless its on the 1 yd line...

I didn't make the playoffs so I'm sitting him in favor of Kolby Smith and Norwood just to put him on notice for next year in my dynasty league.

If the Steelers defense can push around the Pats o-line like the Ravens did, I think Parker should have the opportunity to put up solid numbers. I'm not holding my breath, but a breakout game isn't out of the question....

Blueprint is ..... run straight at that over the hill gang of LineBackers all day. They will tire quickly with a short week along with any over 30 player they have on that defense. Fast Willie is gonna have a huge day.....

I think Steelers will use the last 2 weeks of close calls to their advantage and will capitalize. I got one.....How bout no stupid, unnecessary long throws in the 4th quarter when you don't have to.....

I'm not a FWP owner but would love to have him this week.

I've been dying with him all year long, and will probably do so again this week. Tell me something, Steelers homers - why don't they ever run him outside? They have a great guard in Faneca and FWP has great speed, but they constantly run him between the tackles. Between him and Edge, I've seen 500 1-yard carries this year.

Yeah what he says. They'll run draws and run outside with the hammer Poopenport and run the smaller fast guy right into the teeth of the defense???

Portis and MB3 over FWP
yepim starting PORTIS and gotta decide between FWP / FARGAS / GRANT..... :lmao:
If you don't start Grant this week against Oakland you are a fool. Farve is a little banged up so Grant will see a lot of carries against a weak Oak run defense. Money!

I agree with you on that. Grant vs Oak is the no brainer there IMO. Between the other 3, it is a toss up. I personally dont think that Portis is a given between him, Fargas, and FWP. Fargas has a tough matchup vs GB, but that guy is flat out producing lately, and FWP should see the ball a lot after the weakness that NE showed against the run last night. Pit probably does not want a shootout in Foxboro, so a ball control offense is likely what they will be trying to establish. Very tough call between those 3 IMO. Interested to hear what others think.

I don't think it matters where someone drafted a player, if they have other options that they feel better about.

I've got Willie in a td heavy/ppr league. I've rolled with him every game this season. Grant is going to be my #1 rb this week for obvious reasons, which leaves either Fast Willie, Fargas, or Kolby Smith for my #2.

I need to win this week to win my division, and I just don't think there's any way I can sit Willie, especially after starting him every game this year. While FWP hasn't gotten in the endzone much this year, the guy's otherwise still producing like a stud.

And I'm not going to bench one of my studs for the first time all season in week 14. If FWP doesn't produce this week and costs me a win so be it, at least I took my shot with my best available player in lineup.

He should approach 200 yds
Heard that one before. If I weren't eliminated this past weekend, he'd be benched for the likes of Dayne in a heartbeat. Parker's confidence is going to be damaged after all the fumbles plus at this point in the year, you gotta get touchdowns from your guys.:disgruntled:

Willie typically plays a little worse away from Heinz field. However, you have to take into account that his footing will be better this week as the game will be on a better playing surface. Willie is a speed guy and had trouble the past couple games. Speed guys don't work well in the mud.

Barring any set backs, I see Santonio returning to the lineup and that should help to open a few more plays for Willie. I see his typical day of 100 yds, and possibly even a TD since he has been getting more endzone looks (not much), but Najeh may be out again, or he may even break a long one. Who knows? He's certainly due (TD wise).

NE defense doesn't look all that great to me.

I have ADP, FWP, and Grant....

Going ADP and Grant this week. I snuck in the playoffs and I stuck with FWP. He is gurantee money for a few points, but I need a homerun to beat the best team in the league.

If you are starting ADP and Grant you will win - don't care who else is on your roster this week.

I have All Day, FWP, Kolby, Henry & Young. I am looking at going with All Day & Kolby, but the way McGahee ran last night I might put FWP back in.

I hope so... Going against one of the toughest teams:QB RomoWR: Moss, Owens, HoltRB: Jamal Lewis, and Travis Henry or Adrian PetersonI have:QB: Garrard, Cutler or YoungRB: Grant and ADPWR: TJ Housh, Braylon and Steve Smith or Chris HenryShould be damn close...

Good thought. Man, those NE LB's looked terrible Monday. And I know its a little early, but isn't the weather looking to be terrible over there? Sorry, I'm not near the East Coast, so I have no idea...

I've endured FWP all year and I want to bench him so bad but after watching McGahee..... I'm torn.

I have ADP,Henry, Kolby S., F. Taylor

Starting 2 RB and 1 flex I'm going ADP and ???? I'm sooooo confused :goodposting:
