What are good habits to start for making your life better? (1 Viewer)

Meditate. 10 mins a day. Makes all the difference in the world when I do it. Big fan of the app Headspace, but there are a ton of apps and books out there to help you.
Meditation has been extremely helpful for me as well. I have never tried or looked into any apps but will definitely check them out. I normally use guided meditation podcasts that I have found. Tara Brach has a ton of excellent ones available.

You weren't getting enough fat in it.  The avocado and nuts provide the fats (the good kind) and that balance curbs the appetite.  I have my shake at 7:30 and I'm not hungry until I eat lunch 4 or 5 hours later.
are you buying a powder that includes all of these or you have a powder for each?

whole bunch of superfood powders (acai, camu, cacao, maca, chia seeds, quinoa, and turmeric

walk everyday.

portion control your meals and mix in salads & fruits to offset.

avoid fast food chains.

worry about yourself - don't worry about facebook, twitter, etc.  life isn't about posting videos and things going viral.

what you do when no one is watching speaks volumes about the type of person you are, think about it and change accordingly.

treat others how you want to be treated.

don't sweat the small stuff....no matter how bad you think things are for yourself, someone is in much worse shape.  perspective.

life is fleeting and tomorrow isn't guaranteed, live that way.

I buy all the powders individually.  But you can get some that combine many of these into one.  That's the only downside - it can be a little pricey.  But once again you have to factor in that you are not eating other garbage as much.  I have a Nutribullet shake for breakfast and a $5 chicken salad for lunch.  I have a protein bar and a shake during the day, and then a small cheap dinner at night.  Rip city.

1. Drink a ton of water-I drink 4 gallons of water a day. I always make sure to tape a water bottle to my face so I can sip on it in between the gallons.

2. Eat 32 small meals a day. I eat some oatmeal at 7:12 then follow it up with a handful of almonds and 2 tablespoons of yogurt at 8:19. For lunch I nibble the crust of the bread, eat an apple and some yogurt with a handful of almonds. At 2:36 I eat a handful of almonds, fill a bathtub with water then drink it followed by a chaser of a handful of almonds. At 4:37 I eat my pre-supper which consists of half an apple, some figs and a handful of almonds. For supper I keep it light with some white chicken, half an avocado and a handful of almonds. During sleep time I have a system where I leave a handful of almonds on my pillow so I can grab one with my tongue each 27 minutes until I awake.

3. DON'T EAT UNTIL AFTER YOU WORKOUT otherwise your working out will have no affect at all. If you jog before working out your workout will have gone to waste and you actually become obese. You must make sure you don't eat from 7:13pm the following evening then jog at 5:12 on an empty stomach.

4. You need to jump from the treadmill do some lat pulldowns, run around the gym as fast as you can for 25 minutes, do 2 sets of tris, 3 sets of lumbar push-ins and 5 sets of omni-squats. If you don't do this routine it doesn't matter how many handfuls of almonds you eat. You will wither into a weak human or become obese.

5. Give yourself a cheat day. Once every 3 months I allow myself a slice of pizza.

so you on a high protein diet?

so you on a high protein diet?
More like a low carb diet I guess you'd say.  And no sugar (except for the fruits in the morning shake).  Sugar is like poison for me.  Took me a whole lifetime to figure that out.

Avoid using 10% ethanol gas whenever possible.  I just discovered my lawnmower can mow my entire lawn with a tank of regular gas but runs out about 10 minutes short of finished with 10% ethanol gasoline.  I cant believe I spent the last 4 years refilling my tank each time I mowed the lawn.

I think I'd rather die.  I get eating right and exercising but this seems excessive.  I'm only 3-4 pounds over a healthy MBI and I could easily drop that just by eating a salad and 1 slice of pizza rather than 3 slices whenever we have pizza.

this struck you as the strangest part of his post?

Tell the people in your life that you love and appreciate, that you love and appreciate them.

Splurge sometimes.

Make it a point to have a sit-down, family meal at least once a week.

you should at least give Cunk some kind of subtle reference in there.

Deliberate practice. Push yourself to the point of being a little uncomfortable with the situation frequently instead of just sticking to what you know you can do.

Start with the end in mind.

Some of the best advice I've ever gotten about how to live your life - it can apply to many things but it really helps you focus on the big picture things.  Take time to think about what you want the end of your life to look like.  If you really spend the time doing this exercise it will help guide your decision making.

Another way to put it - be intentional.  It's your life, you get to decide how it goes (for the most part).
