what are you a snob about? (3 Viewers)

Toilet Paper - I hate 1-ply and the rough stuff.  Only clouds for my b-hole.

Ketchup - Heinz or bust.  The other stuff all tastes like crap.

Yard Equipment/Tools - I own some cheap stuff (Harbor Freight) for when I need to beat the crap out of something (i.e. trying to use a screwdriver to pry something) , but I have my high-end stuff for when I use them as needed.

Seats at concerts, shows, and sporting events - I don't go that often, mainly due to time constraints,so when I do go, I typically splurge for good seats.

Softball tournaments/teams I'll play on
This reminds me of one thing my wife would always call me a snob about: volleyball.

I could never play in the typical backyard volleyball game (where everybody just hits it back over without passing, setting, etc) without feeling tortured. And I was always polite and accommodating, but inside was groaning when my brothers/friends and I would be playing a real game and people who couldn't play would ask to join in.

I haven't been in either situation in a while, but if I were, I imagine I'd still have the same feelings.

Bread, most people are clueless to what real Italian and Syrian bread are.

Restaurants - I've become pretty snobby about not eating at crappy chains (e.g. Chili's, Outback, Olive Garden,* etc.)
Seeing recent pictures of you, I'd disagree  :porked:

Underwear- only black Calvin Klein boxer briefs.  Any deviation from that (even if more expensive) is unacceptable.

Cooking steaks/prime rib- medium rare or it goes.

All of the above, including other (cyclocross/gravel). Current whips are a 2017 roubaix expert di2, 2017 stumpjumper expert (with some carbon wheels added on), 2015 s-works crux also built with di2. Been off my bike for a little over a year because of health issues, but pretty excited for the weather to turn. (also my job is running a bike shop)
Damn, you are a snob.  I thought I was bad with Carbon Pivot 429 full squish and my Trek Stache hardtail.  Looking to get a gravel grinder at some point here soon....where's your shop?

If anything maybe board games.  :nerd:    I don't have much use for mass market games like Monopoly or Risk anymore.

sheesh.  Very few things that I would turn down an inferior version of.  Love good beer, pizza and BBQ, but would still enjoy some Little Caesars with a Miller Lite too.

Probably audio/music - I don't need perfect but I'd rather have silence than something played out of tiny bluetooth or some crappy songs.

In the Seattle area.

How tall are you? Want to buy my Crux? I want to race in the fall but I'm fat and slow and don't want to race on that kind of bike, so I'm building up a basic alloy bike that isn't so flashy. :)
While I'd love it, it's considerably out of my price range.  I'm not sure I'd ever do any racing (though you never know), I want to dip my toe in the waters first.  I nearly pulled the trigger on a friend's Kona Jake the Snake last year, but didn't.

Yeah, your shop is about as far away from me as you could be.

Pizza for sure. Cracks me up when someone from like Pennsylvania or Connecticut claims their hometown had a great pizza place. I've never had a decent slice of pizza outside the NY/NJ area.

Who I watch sports with. I absolutey hate watching sporting events with people that don't know anything about sports. I can't stomach going to be a big Superbowl party with families.

Of the ones mentioned:
* Music (i.e. crappy sound systems)
* Beer. I won't turn my nose up at free beer but if I'm buying it won't be that Bud, Miller or Coors junk.
* HD TV (not so much that I can't watch SD but I notice)
* Grilled/smoked meats. This goes for both quality and preparation (my wife likes her steak well done and it kills me to prepare it that way)
* Seating for movies or concerts (for concerts pretty forgiving but for movies it's gotta be middle center).

Not mentioned:
* Being on time (can't stand when others are late)
* Cleanlines. I'm not Felix Unger but I can't stand it when people just throw stuff on the floor or dishes in the sink and then let it sit for days on end.
* Cars - Don't need an Audi or BMW but I'm not driving a piece of garbage. A middle tier car with a good sound system is my low end.

Oh come on. I fully agree that there can be a big gap between good/bad pizza but you've NEVER had even one decent slice outside of NY/NJ? That's not snobbish that's elitist.  :D

I also don't like bad pizza but I've had some great pizza from lots of different cities.

Good one.  Late people send the message, intentionally or not, that my time is less valuable than theirs.  If I'm meeting someone for lunch and they're 10 min late, I'll order and if needed start eating.

One guy met me for lunch on a work day, not a good friend, more of a friend of a friend.  I got there 5 min early, checked phone for a while and went in.  Ordered about 15 min after designated meet time, got my food, and was about 2/3 done when he arrived.  First he made excuses for being late ( he was "almost in a car crash" ), then he wanted to borrow money so he could flip a house.  I calmly finished my chicken parm then told him no.  I left while he was waiting for his entree.  In the car, I got a text saying I forgot to pay for lunch.  Three hours later, I responded "Oh."

tl:dr - Don't keep me waiting, especially if you want me to help you out.

Agree.  There are a lot of different styles of pizza, and while bad NY style places can be pretty bad, there are some that are very good, and I can't imagine what they could be doing in NYC that would make it so superior.  It's crust, sauce, cheese and topings.
