What Def. Tackes available the Titans to sign? (1 Viewer)

Weapon of Mass Instruction

Watch my feet!
Titans' interior DLine is soft as evidenced by the Broncos running all over/through them. Granted, Haynesworth didn't play. However, Rien Long tore his Achilles and we just don't have much more.

What DTs are still available on the open market? Also, any speculation as to who may be cut as rosters are paired?

We don't need a starter, per se. We need someone that can be a hole-plugger and help stop the run. We need maybe 15-20 plays a game.

Big Daddy is gone to Miami. What about Grady Jackson? Give me some good suggestions?

Do you work with the Titans' front office? ;)

The 'Skins may cut backups Cedric Killings and Ryan Boschetti because they've been impressed with the play of rookies Montgomery and Golston.

Is Starks not playing well? I thought Haynesworth and Starks inside with Odem/Laboy/VDB outside was a good foundation. I could have that wrong/mixed up though...

Colin

Buckner met with the Giants over the weekend. No offer yet. Grady Jackson met with the Jets and Giants over the past few days. I heard that he showed up fatter than ever. No contract offer either.

Odom looking for more opinions

(Rotoworld) Titans DE Antwan Odom will require a second and perhaps third opinion on his injured knee.

Impact: That doesn't bode well. It's not an ACL injury, but the thin Tennessee line can ill afford to lose another member. They have other minor injuries and lost tackle Rien Long for the season.

Well, Colin, the DLine appeared to be our deepest position, along with LB, prior to camp. However, with the season ending Achilles tear to Rien Long and now the likely season ending knee injury to Odom, we are getting pretty thin.Long was just now coming into his own and was looking at a break out season. Odom, many said, was one of the top 3-4 guys as far as most improved in camp.Saturday, Haynesworth didn't play as a precaution regarding a stiff back. Obviously, that made the situation look much worse than it was. Here is where we are now: Haynesworth and Starks are the top 2 and, yes, they like them a lot. However, after that, really all we have now is Clauss and Mahelona. Clauss is limited and Mahelona is a short, rookie. Haynesworth can and, I think, will be dominant this year. However, he requires a few plays off. What we need is a couple of big, tree stumps that can just go in for a few plays just to plug the hole, keep the OL off the linebackers, and give Phat Albert and Starks a breather. As far as Grady being out of shape -- as long as he doesn't get injured, that's ok. Whoever we bring in won't need to play a lot, or for lengthy periods of time.Mark it down, the Titans will bring in at least one more DT -- maybe 2, plus possibly a DE unless Laboy/Schobel get healthy quickly. Plus, it will not surprise me greatly to even see them trade Travis Henry for a DL or CB. Also, watch for Sirmon to either be restructured or released. :football:

Well, now Grady Jackson is gone. (Atlanta, per KFFL.)

I'm not sure what Floyd Reese is actually doing over there at Baptist Sports Park. Must be playing Madden 07 because he sure isn't managing our roster.

Supposedly the Dolphins are having talks with Tennessee about sending Jeff Zgonina your way...

He should be perfect for what you are looking for -- his only knock is his age, but if you only need someone to be part of a rotation, he should work out well..

Miami probably is not looking for much for him -- I'd say a 5th next year would be GREAT, but we'd probably settle for a 6th or maybe even a 7th if we thought he might get cut...
