What happened to all the AFC is superior threads? (1 Viewer)

For the last couple of years this board has been notorious for having an "AFC team will win the Super Bowl" or "NFC is the weaker conference" threads. With the Giants winning last year it seems all talk has gone out the window. Or maybe its the humbled Patriots fans who have learned their lesson. At any rate this is my opinion of the best teams in each conference in no particular order:

AFC

Patriots

Colts

Chargers

Jaguars

Pittsburgh

Cleveland

NFC

Dallas

Minn

Giants

Eagles

Saints

Packers

It seems to me that both conferences a generally equal at the top...what say you?

I missed the part where New England fans were invested with the AFC being better than the NFC..?!?This year I'd go...

Tier 1

NE, SD, Dallas

Tier 2

Packers, Colts, Jaguars, Steelers

Tier 3

Everybody else

BTW, congrats again to the Giants.

That's easy, the NFC won the SB.

Whether you believe the AFC is better or not, there's only so much chest thumping one can do if they didn't even win the SB.

Who's going to come on here and say how dominant the AFC is when the NFC won the Championship game?

 Top AFC teams (top 3, top 10, top20) >>>>>>>Top NFC teams...Nice that Giants beat NE, but that doesn't mean the rest of the NFC is > AFC...

If I had to rank my top 10 today, this is how I would do it:

Patriots

Chargers

Colts

Dallas

Minn

Jaguars

Pittsburgh

Giants

Cleveland

Eagles

I'd say the AFC looks better than the NFC.

ne

sd

ind

pit

jax

sea

phil

gb

dal

ng

there is my top 10 in order . so the giants got lucky in one game . would the 68 nyjets beat the colts again ? probably 1 in 5 games, like the giants over pats .

The super bowl is probably going thru Seattle in the NFC. Their schedule is just too soft, and their defense is just too good. They might only lose 2 games with that schedule.

They better win a lot of 14-10 games then. I don't see great things for the Hawks this year.

Were people really crowing about one conference over the other? I don't remember that and certainly would never care one way or the other. I'm a Pats fan but would never measure up AFC vs. NFC. Who cares?

Now college football, I can see getting in debates about the SEC vs. the PAC10 or what not, but who cares about that in the NFL?

For the NFL, I could see comparing divisions to see who has the harder division, but having an allegiance to your conference is a bit of a stretch ...

With that schedule, that stipulation is reasonable.
Yeah, I am just not seeing a scary offense anymore.Julius Jones and Deion Branch hardly strike fear into opponents.
