Quick review of things that just don't make any sense.

NY Giants 13...Miami 10

Eli Manning threw for 59 yards...how is that possible? I understand the conditions were total crap but you have to try awfully hard to not be able to throw the ball against the Miami secondary which still is as bad as they come. Cameron Worrell should have been used like a $2 whore by Plaxico Burress in this game. The whole Giants pass attack came up with nada. Was like flopping an open ended straight flush draw and missing everything...how bad was the weather really?

Chatman had 100 yards with 16 carries and 3 catches...Cobbs had 19 yards on 4 carries. Miami's OL is run blocking pretty well...can we attribute at least some of this to Ronnie Brown's success?

Pittsburgh 24...Cinci 13

Watson had 88 yds rushing but also 5 rec for 26 yards...I am betting that although FF owners are liking his stats, that those catches will evaporate once Chris Henry makes it back onto the field. Or do you think Housh will have his stats take a hit? Speaking of which...Housh is on pace for almost 160 receptions and 16+ TD for the season.

Detroit 16...Chicago 7

Kevin Jones has really bounced back. 23/105/TD...he might actually keep improving. Kitna did throw for over 250 in the game...just not hitting TD like he was early in the season.

Griese was supposed to be money in the bank today...instead he was interceptions in the bank for Detroit. I just don't get this really. picks in the end zone really hurt FF owners...maybe we weren't wrong in our assessment but the execution by Griese and Chicago was terrible. What a low scoring game too.

Does anyone think Cedric Benson will start for Chicago again next season?

Indy 31...Carolina 7

I thought this was supposed to be RBBC...or a split in carries. Addai had 23 to KK's 6 and it was basically a blowout...did Dungy fib? I don't get it.

How does Steve SMith get 2 catches and Jeff King get 10?

Cleveland 27...St Louis 20

Is Derek Anderson finally seen as holding the starting job for the rest of the season? Brady Quinn is not going to play a lick at this point. The Browns are 4-3.

Holt, Bruce, and Bennett all had 6 receptions.

Tennessee 13...Oakland 9

Eli might have thrown for only 59 yards but Vince Young topped that with 42...OMG!!!

Lamont Jordan had 12 carries for 16 yards...RBBC from here on out?

Philly 23...Minnesota 16

ADP still not getting used enough...had 35 yards on the opening drive with about 6 carries...14 carries the rest of the way for about 35 yards...I got shelled in the RB thread for saying ADP would have very average numbers today. Guess the Eagles can defend the run.

ADP not getting any catches out of the backfield is disgusting...that guy makes big time plays in open space. Childress is not going to last long up there. They have a lot of the pieces too.

Jacksonville 24...Tampa Bay 23

I'm numb after this game. How do the Bucs lose this game? I saw it but I am still miffed by the whole thing. TB blew a great opp to seize control on the NFC South...8 wins will likely take that division and the NFC West at the rate they are going.

San Diego 35...Houston 10

Why wasn't Michael Turner given more touches in a blowout from halftime. What was the point of not trading him exactly?

Rivers looked sharp and Chambers looks like he is going to be a great trade for the Chargers...don't discount them in the playoffs just yet...they might have a 7 or 8 game win streak in front of them if they play up to their ability. It is entirely possible that they now understand Norv Turner's approach and maybe they are responding better.

Why did Andre Davis only have 1 catch for 6 yards today? That guy has been producing very well for the last 4-5 weeks. Don't understand

Buffalo 13...NY Jets 3

Will Kelly Clemens make the Jets that much better?

Was nice to see Lee Evans finally bust out...lookout down the stretch.

New Orleans 31...San Fran 10

Is N.O. now back in the playoff hunt?

New England 52...Washington 7

I thought the Skins were good? Wern't people saying 2-3 weeks ago they were the only team from the NFC that could stop New England? What a joke...not ripping them just on this game, anyone can look pretty bad against the Pats, but they just had no answers for anything.

What had you miffed today?

WR's are scoring more than RB's this year. I thought it would even out eventually, but it seems like it's going to keep going.

The browns defense actually stopped the rams to preserve the win!! The texans are falling apart.

Braylon's a top 5 WR

Brees may be back-I certainly didn't expect that kind of production!!

Indy 31...Carolina 7I thought this was supposed to be RBBC...or a split in carries. Addai had 23 to KK's 6 and it was basically a blowout...did Dungy fib? I don't get it. How does Steve SMith get 2 catches and Jeff King get 10?
If you saw the game you would know. He was thrown at, usually in triple coverage.

I watched the game and Vinny's poise was contrasted with Carr's impatience in the game. He looked so unsettled. From watching the game, it looked like many times Carr did not allow enough time for his receivers' routes to develop.

Carr always looks like he's running for his life. He's to worried about getting hit. He's a perfect example of why you don't let rookie QB's take a beating, very few of them ever recover.

Terrible. I watched the whole game and this was a combination of a lot of running and really horrible conditions for passing. Nobody could hold onto the football, both QBs and WRs included. Lemon had a pass that slipped out of his hand before he even threw it. Any decent passes were usually dropped by the WRs.

Chatman had 100 yards with 16 carries and 3 catches...Cobbs had 19 yards on 4 carries. Miami's OL is run blocking pretty well...can we attribute at least some of this to Ronnie Brown's success?

Yes. But Chatman looked very good, spinning and often running for yards after the first hit. He looks legit as an NFL starter.

I think Henry won't have as much of an impact as everyone thinks he will, and I expect most of the main Bengals players' statistics to remain relatively constant.

Griese just isn't a good quarterback. This has been proven by three teams now. He's an upgrade over Grossman but they really need to get someone who is actually a good QB. Statistics are a mirage sometimes and I think that's the case for Griese's last few weeks.

Does anyone think Cedric Benson will start for Chicago again next season?

I think he has a chance but will probably get run out of town. For what it's worth he wasn't totally terrible today, at least stat-wise.

Indy 31...Carolina 7

I thought this was supposed to be RBBC...or a split in carries. Addai had 23 to KK's 6 and it was basically a blowout...did Dungy fib? I don't get it.

Addai was doing well, no reason to stop using him. Keith only really got his yards at the end of the game. I think talk of a RBBC was premature.

How does Steve SMith get 2 catches and Jeff King get 10?

David Carr plays most of the game. Speaking of teams that need a QB, the Panthers really, really need Delhomme.

Cleveland 27...St Louis 20

Is Derek Anderson finally seen as holding the starting job for the rest of the season? Brady Quinn is not going to play a lick at this point. The Browns are 4-3.

Yes.

Holt, Bruce, and Bennett all had 6 receptions.

Tennessee 13...Oakland 9

Eli might have thrown for only 59 yards but Vince Young topped that with 42...OMG!!!

Vince Young is terrible statistically. There wasn't even a weather concern in this game. He just sucks. No stud WRs to throw to either but it's mostly his fault.

Lamont Jordan had 12 carries for 16 yards...RBBC from here on out?

It'll be the type of RBBC where one guy will go off one week and the other guy will do it in the next one, thus making both of them unusable. The Raiders are reverting to form after a good start.

He got 20 carries today and got 70 yards. It wasn't a lack of usage as much as the Eagles being able to defend the run, so yeah. ADP is good but you can't expect 200+ and 3 TDs out of him every week.

ADP not getting any catches out of the backfield is disgusting...that guy makes big time plays in open space. Childress is not going to last long up there. They have a lot of the pieces too.

They really need to cut all the QBs on the roster and get a few new ones. For what it's worth Bollinger looked better than Holcomb or Jackson but that's not saying much. I agree, Childress should go.

TB is overrated and if they get into the playoffs they'll exit early. Jacksonville ran the ball down their throats and TB was completely unable to stop it. I think they had over 10 straight runs to start the game and early into the game they got into the red zone on a drive all the way down the field without throwing a single pass.

San Diego 35...Houston 10

Why wasn't Michael Turner given more touches in a blowout from halftime. What was the point of not trading him exactly?

I don't know why they keep him or why he stays there. Seems like he's wasting years of his prime as a backup when he could be starting for a lot of teams. It's not like SD is the clear favorite to win the SB either.

I like the Chambers trade in that it means they don't have to throw to Vincent Jackson. The knock on Chambers was that he couldn't catch well but VJax is one of the worst starters in the NFL in terms of catching the ball.

Why did Andre Davis only have 1 catch for 6 yards today? That guy has been producing very well for the last 4-5 weeks. Don't understand

Law of averages really. Plus Rosenfels got the majority of the passing yards for Houston and he didn't look Davis's way much last week either barring one long TD.

Buffalo 13...NY Jets 3

Will Kelly Clemens make the Jets that much better?

No. But the WRs will do better stat-wise, probably. More INTS and more TDs are likely.

Was nice to see Lee Evans finally bust out...lookout down the stretch.

New Orleans 31...San Fran 10

Is N.O. now back in the playoff hunt?

In the NFC, in that division? Sure. They'll probably win.

New England 52...Washington 7

I thought the Skins were good? Wern't people saying 2-3 weeks ago they were the only team from the NFC that could stop New England? What a joke...not ripping them just on this game, anyone can look pretty bad against the Pats, but they just had no answers for anything.

New England is just that good. The team in the NFC that had a chance at stopping the Pats was Dallas and we all saw how that turned out. If the Colts lose then the Pats will go 16-0, almost certainly.

What had you miffed today?

Tennessee 13...Oakland 9

Lamont Jordan had 12 carries for 16 yards...RBBC from here on out?
Very good question. What the heck was going on here? Fargas had nearly 100 total yards today.
You cant run inside on the Titans front 4. They're playing at an even higher level than Minnesota right now.
How was Fargas able to produce?
He had a couple of nice runs, and his change of pace worked, but the bread and butter run game just does not work against the Titans.

Indy 31...Carolina 7

:P I watched the game...didn't see him triple covered...Dungy doesn't triple cover anyone in the Indy version of the Tampa 2.

The most shocking thing I saw was Eli Manning running 10 yards for a score.

Of course Brady's 2 rushing TDS were up there, too.

I would say the most unexplainable thing I saw this week was anybody posting about how the skins were going to give the pats a game.

the bermuda traingle is less mysterious.

Not just a question for today, but WTH is wrong w/ the Cincy offense.. Palmer has been a big disappointment save the game @ Clev week 2.

So Jordan owner should not be worried about Fargas' production?

In the past Smith got open despite the triple coverage. However, in the past he didn't have David Carr throwing him the ball. That just may be the problem.

Testaverde didn't get hurt did he? So he must have been ineffective. But then Carr has always been ineffective. Amazing how much better the Texans passing game has looked with either Schaub or Rosenfels, compared to with Carr behind center. And that is despite missing Andre Johnson most of the year.

Bellicheck not afraid to sneak Brady 4 times in the game but leave Maroney out on 1st & Goal and 2nd and Goal from the 2 multiple times. I'm a Pats fan from MA, but does Bill really think it's fun putting Seau and Vrabel out there? 1st time I can understand, but 2nd time in the same game???

why can't LT score?
I thought the same thing while at the Jets game merely watching the scoreboard - that of the 35 points, LT must have gotten a TD or two out of it.But after seeing the highlights - 3 passing TDs outside the red zone, one INT return and another recovery of a botched snap, it made more sense. Still stunk, but made more sense.

why can't LT score?
I agree. Why didn't they abandon an insanely effective pass offense, even after fully securing a win with 2 defensive TDs, in order to get LT a TD or two?
Excellent idea. If something is working well for you, quit doing it and try something completely different. Keeping Tomlinson's fantasy value up should be Norv's top priority.
