What happens to TJ Housh? (1 Viewer)

Does he become relied on even more if Chad is out/limited? Or was he a beneficiary of all the extra attention paid to Ocho Cinco?

TJ was never the field-stretcher, and since so many teams prefer cover-2 instead of truly manning up on WRs, I think his route-running and hands will prevent much of a dropoff. Henry (when he returns) can be the #2 deep threat, aka the Alvin Harper role. Also, if Chad can't go, it will allow them to give a lot of those touches to the RB's and utilize TJ more in play-action.

So, I say he stays rated about the same. His talent didn't go anywhere and he still has the same QB throwing to him (on a team with a poor defense). What does everyone else think?

very suprised there isnt more discussion on this - the guy is still ranked in almost all the top 10s in the subscribe area - I think he is out of the top 10 with that hammy and awful Cincy team - would love to hear more debate though.....

I personally don't see the hammy being an issue. He's practicing now and may play in the Bengals final preseason game. Johnson still wants to play despite his injury AND they now have Henry. He's got what I feel a top 5 QB in Palmer and a horrible defense. I think Housh will post numbers simular to what he did last year. You also have to keep in mind, this is a contract year for him which should motivate him to get on the field and produce. He may not grab 100+ catches like he did last year, but 94-100 catches, 1200+ yards and 9+ TDs shouldn't surprise folks.

And before people ask, NO I'm not a Housh owner, but I wish I was.

Just my opinion...

I didn't have him in the top-10 regardless, losing Johnson probably wouldn't help. Much like Welker, I don't think TJ is a WR who would thrive without an elite guy lining up opposite him.

I think Housh stays about where he is. Henry, on the other hand, just rocketed up the draft board.

That line of thinking TOTALLY backfired on me with Julie Jones last year.Plus I think Housh pretty much plays all out on the majority of his opportunities already.

I think that with the addition of a pass catching TE in Utecht, the return of Henry, and the return of a pass catching RB in Perry to go along with Watson, a lot of Housh's catches will be going elsewhere.

The last 8 games of 2007, Housh sported 50/469/2.

Those happened to be the games Henry played in. He stilll saw alot of targets, but his YPA was way down and after an absolutely torrid start to 2007 when he had 10 TD's in 8 games, he was clamped down on.

Last year, I thought TJ was great value in Round 4, but I'm not liking him that much at the end of Round 2 this year.

His catches will go down, but I expect similar TD production from him. Palmer still targets him a ton and the Bengals will be playing from behind alot. And with this being a contract year, as mentioned, another big year could be his ticket out of Cincy, which looks pretty good right now.

Housh value, teetering at about the same.

Chad Johnson's way down.

Chris Henry, should be a solid bench guy for bye weeks.

Housh is still the man, and I do not own him either, just my opinion......

(Dish Chad Johnson while you can (owners))

TJ's value falling - I'm trying to capitalize on it - just traded Cotchery for him. I lthink Cotchery will have a good year with Favre but TJ is the surer bet IMO. Maybe the hammy and quiet preseason will have him falling in drafts. Rock solid top 10 WR IMO.

any updates on how Housh looks in practice? Will he play oin the last preseason game?

He is falling to outside the top 10 WRs in the last 2 drafts I did - scooped him up at #12 and #13 WR.

CJ will still be on the field, but could be limited and Palmer may not be able to fully trust him. Utech and Perry (if he keeps the starting gig) don't scare me too much as Carson fully trusts Housh and will look to him 1st anyway.

Draft Housh with confidence. In a contract year he should be great. Cincy could toss the franchise tag on him if he won't sign and keep him around for another year so he's safe in a dynasty league as well.
