What have we learned thus far? (1 Viewer)

That championships are not won in April.

Now excuse me while I go wait in line for my White Sox/D-Backs World Series tickets.

Cueto=for real

Tampa Bay Rays=not so much

ortiz=jury still out

Pat Burrell=contract year
obviously, it depends on your definition of "for real", but there's still plenty of reason to believe this team can make a run at .500. they're 6-8 without kazmir (who may've been the best pitcher in AL over the 2nd half in '07), garza, floyd, and navarro. they've been competitive even in games when they haven't played very well. 6-8 is not that bad and things should continue to get better from here. they aren't winning the division, but 75 wins or more is a legit possiblity.

David Ortiz has reached his Mo Vaughn moment.
Please.It's April 16th.Funny how people forget that even great players go through very slow starts. Like Jeter in '04, who as late as May 25th was putting up the following line: .189/.249/.279Ortiz will be fine.

I was just joking. I don't think he's there yet. But it is likely that when Papi starts his decline, it'll come quickly. That's generally the case with players with his body type.
