What If : Favre to Bucs. (1 Viewer)

I'm guessing Favre would try to do too much as he did for a few years in Green Bay before learning to trust his new supporting cast. They would be a playoff team, but wouldn't be a serious SB contender IMHO.

It's easy to say that about any team as only 1 wins the Super Bowl, but in reality a Wild Card team who nearly didn't make the playoffs a few weeks out won the SB.Prior to the start of the season, people were picking the Giants to come in last in the NFC East and were wondering how long Eli Manning was going to be the starter in New York. That's the team that won the SB last year. Tampa Bay compared to the Giants during preseason look no worse if Farve were the Quarterback. Sure, I'd say the same thing......Farve in Tampa won't win the SB.I'll say that the Jags won't win the SB and either will the Steelers this year with or without Farve as their QB. I'll just say this. I think Tampa Bay is a better football team with Brett Farve as their QB than with Jeff Garcia. If that's not good enough to win the SB or it is, who knows but he makes that team better. If the Bucs want to improve themselves, they'd get Farve, get to the playoffs and roll the dice just like the Giants did last year.

I want to see Favre in Tampa, but I would have some concern as to the relationship between him and Gruden. Tampa might not be big enough for both of their egos.

BTW, PFT reporting Bruce Allen inquired with Simms about Favre learning the playbook. Simms brewing up more drama for the Bucs. :lmao:

IMHO GB has to make a decision between trading him to Tampa, or keeping him. Because he will go to Minny if they just release him.

Is anyone buying the alleged "it's too hot in Tampa" excuse? I'm certainly not, given he spends his off-seasons in the sweltering heat of Mississippi, but the talking heads seem to have ruled out the Bucs based on that supposed comment.

As for fantasy, it would probably make one of Hilliard or Clayton relevant. Maybe even Bryant.

Or to any number of AFC teams that have expressed interest...

Trade him the Bolts. It would set Rivers on fire for sure but who cares. They dont need him but it would be exciting plus it would be entertaining to see Favre battle both manning and Brady in shootouts.

That's fair.Let me clarify my thoughts:*** I agree with you Favre makes the Bucs better than Jeff Garcia would*** I agree that, in this day and age, being in the playoffs makes you a legitimate contender*** I still believe that in football the best team(s) generally win more playoff games than those who sneak in as wild cards*** I would think this puts the Bucs as a 2nd tier team in the NFC, with two or three other teams likely to have better records and better shots at the SB
