What if NFL Divisions Were Like This? (1 Viewer)

Makes so much more sense. I’d love this.
I'd hate it, but only because I'm a Bengals fan. Neat idea though, and most of the divisions make a lot of sense. But I think of Cincinnati as midwest to the core. So being grouped with Carolina, Washington, and Baltimore feels very, very wrong. I know we're already grouped with Baltimore. But that's the weirdest team we're currently grouped with, and suddenly they would become the most fitting which is really bad.

I've argued for years now that it makes more sense to have a more regional approach to divisions and it's something that I liked about college football when I used to follow it.

Although my atlantic would be
jacksonville
tampa bay
miami
washington

south
dallas
houston
new orleans
arizona

big sky would be renamed mid west and would be
las vegas
denver
green bay
minn

south east
tn
atlanta
carolina
kc

chi
indy
bengals
detroit

bills
browns
steelers
ravens

How well aligned were the current divisions before teams started moving around and we got expansion teams, etc?

To the last question, I will use the 1967 NFL. 16 teams divided into 4 divisions all starting with a "C". Central was all teams currently in the North. Capitol was the East except the Saints were in instead of the Giants. The other 2 divisions were all screwed up to say the least.

Don’t spend too much brainpower on this.5 years from now the Chargers, Jags and oh let’s go with the Cardinals, will probably be in Toronto, London and Mexico City. Or perhaps San Antonio, St. Louis, and Portland.

TBD!
