Antonio Brown Bankrupt, 3M in debt (1 Viewer)

Brown firing a gun in the air because someone was trying to rob him, this really ain't a big deal.

One more weird AB story.
Actually saw something on a cop show where cops were called for gun shots fired and dude said “I just shot it in the air”…cop said what goes up must come down and bullets reach speeds of over 225 mph coming back down and can go through roofs and have killed people…

I guess that personal chef dude (or whatever) needed to let a couple fly back then? Maybe AB woulda paid what he owed.

Prolly not, but maybe.

Not sure if it could go through a roof and kill someone, but definitely falling direct to the head I could see it happening.

Anyways, still blows my mind to this day that if you fire a gun straight, the bullet will hit the ground at the exact same time as a tennis ball or whatever other object you drop from the same height (at the same time). I know it's "basic science" but just refuses to compute in my head.

Sure but AB throwing tennis balls in the air wouldn’t be nearly as effective at thwarting a robbery. :oldunsure:

Bullets fired into the air maintain their lethal capability when they eventually fall back down.
busted / plausible / confirmed

In the case of a bullet fired at a precisely vertical angle (something extremely difficult for a human being to duplicate), the bullet would tumble, lose its spin, and fall at a much slower speed due to terminal velocity and is therefore rendered less than lethal on impact. However, if a bullet is fired upward at a non-vertical angle (a far more probable possibility), it will maintain its spin and will reach a high enough speed to be lethal on impact. Because of this potentiality, firing a gun into the air is illegal in most states, and even in the states that it is legal, it is not recommended by the police. Also the MythBusters were able to identify two people who had been injured by falling bullets, one of them fatally injured.

Florida really is the new wild west.

AI sez:

In Miami, discharging a firearm in public is governed by Florida Statute 790.15, which makes it illegal to knowingly discharge a firearm in any public place, on the right-of-way of a paved road, highway, or street, or outdoors on any property used primarily as a dwelling or zoned for residential use. This offense is classified as a first-degree misdemeanor and is punishable by up to one year in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, and/or mandatory probation.234

Yet in the bottom 1/3rd in violent crimes committed

Well, when you make some violent crime legal the numbers should go down.

I'm assuming he was legally carrying.....curious about getting into a event/sporting event with a weapon whether you can legally carry or not....?....guess that's ok...?

If it's a gun free zone based on state or federal laws it would be illegal. If it's just the venue claiming to be a gun-free venue, they can kick a person out for having a gun, but no law was broken.

it should refuse to compute, because they won't land at the same time. that would only happen if they are in a vacuum. since they wouldn't be, air resistance, among other things, would cause them to hit the ground at different times.

correct...I think I would rather be hit by a tennis ball that somehow goes through the roof/ceilings/etc. instead of bouncing off like a Sampras drop shot instead of a bullet at 225 mph...

Man's got a right to protect his property
It's South Beach, lot of syndicate crime down there especially thieves
That's the 3-0-5 for you, can be walking out of an event at the VIP door and still get knocked over
Poor Antonio, was trying to support his fighter and ends up in a late night dance with death, he's lucky to be alive
Maybe this will be the turning point for him and his life moving forward

T&P AB
As more reports come out, he shot up into the air to scare them off. Seems reasonable considering the situation. Guess he could have done nothing and put his fate into the hands of some punks. I think he chose wisely. Police must have agreed since he was released.
Everything that goes up comes down. It is highly illegal to fire into the air - there are documented cases of folks dying on NYE & July 4th from this.
Yeah, if he fired into the air, he needs to lose his cc. And possibly face jail time.

I’m not sure about FL. I know some counties don’t require a CC (and it’s probably a good bet FL is one of the states that’s loose) but I don’t know for sure. Dunno if it’s jail-worthy, but it probably should be.

Yeah, somebody posted above it’s a misdemeanor in Miami. 🤯 Could be a year jail time, or $1k fine. And mandatory probation.

I think AB can scrape up $1k
I posted that (well reposted what AI told me) I think it's only a fineable offense. Now, if he has fired in the air from a car I believe it would carry jail time up to 15 years.

Because, that makes sense.

FLORIDA, #### YEAH!!!

This guy disagrees, and I kinda trust him... Even if I don't like him ---> Safe for work.

Stay away, everyone. Florida is full and we’re crazy!

If they each chip in $1, that oughtta do it.
You beat me to it. 😂

According to Sleeper is wanted for attempted murder because, y'know, he shot a gun in, or over, a crowd at a boxing event last month.

ETA: I guess Florida isn't quite as bughouse loco as I thought.

How much do you think he'd charge to show up at a Fantasy Draft? An extra hundred if the first time someone says a player who has already been drafted, he rips off his shirt and leaves.

How epic would it be if he was the one to pin names on the draft board for your league draft? Ha ha
It depends. In this scenario are there any guns within 100... no, 500 yards of him?

And how high up is this draft taking place? Even if every piece of furniture is nailed to the floor I still won't allow him in if we're anywhere above the second floor.

Okay so I know nothing about science. Ignore my idiocy

AB just shows that some full grown adults need people to watch for them. Especially ones that have beenn hit in the head so much that they're lucky they're not a veggie.

A bullet fired from a gun would hit the ground way before a dropped tennis ball would. One is moving towards the ground with a ton of momentum behind it, the other simply dropping. Speed still matters in gravity.

Then you need to argue with Neil : He explains it here

This is exactly why I say it blows my mind. No matter how or which side you look at it... it doesn't make sense.

You get hit in the head enough its gonna begin to effect your choices in life. This guy is a loose cannon and needs help. Maybe some harsh consequences saves him from future heart ache. Imo

So, he took the gun from the security guard? Glad to know Florida mandates exacting training standards for weapons security discipline before allowing someone to open carry.
