Antonio Brown Bankrupt, 3M in debt (1 Viewer)

left a game early with the Steelers.
When?
Or the Bucs.
One might say he really left it* all on the field with the Bucs.

*his jersey.

My understanding goes like this.

Last week of the regular season in 2018. There’s conflict at practice with Big Ben, AB skips practice, Steelers try to sweep it under the rug by saying AB has a knee issue, AB skips the Saturday walk thru, he shows up Sunday expecting to play and the Steelers don’t dress him. AB hangs out on the sideline and leaves the stadium at half time.

As dramatic as him leaving the TB game? No.

But he never played again for the Steelers.

You recall it correctly other then I don't recall if he ever showed up to the stadium but that's misleading as it could be to label that as leaving a game early he never was even activated.

Fair enough but not only was AB at the stadium he hung out on the sidelines in his brown fur coat.

The point of this whole debate is AB by all accounts was a terrible teammate and it started in Pittsburgh. They’re not resigning him.

Yes I agree his last week with Pittsburgh ended ugly but after what he did in Tampa at the end combined, some of his ugly PR looks and fact he's been away from the game so long he's done. He only got so many second plus chances in his career because he was great and that's likely gone now and so are his chances.

BUT I don't like seeing revisionist history and stuff I feel is being made up and on that note let me point out that after he had that fiasco with Ben and missing that game the Steelers did NOT try and trade him. It was AB who asked for the trade. Art Rooney, and I believe Tomlin with him, actually made an incredible attempt to mend the fences with him and they met him at an airport in Florida to try and fix the issues but it was AB and not the Steelers who persisted on wanting a trade. They even sent him somewhere he wanted to go as Ian Rappaport jumped the gun and reported he had been traded to the Bills which AB balked at and the Steelers pulled the plug on that deal and sent him to the Raiders. So I don't think it's how things ended with the Steelers that make him someonen they won't touch, it's the crazy amount of stuff he did after and fact he's simply no longer worth the risk.

Leaving that game with Tampa was the cardinal sin. That's a wrap when a player does that.

The Bills were so unbelievably lucky the plug got pulled.

Yes I found that after someone bumped it today, thanks. I looked through 4 pages of search results and couldn’t find it. He’s produced quite a few headlines and topics around here over the years.

Maybe @FBG Moderator can merge this with that topic.

Steelers should give him a one year contract.. He can make money, they get a WR, plus he can end his career as a Steeler and finish in good gracious with the team and fans.

Zero chance that happens.

AB was great to watch for so many years as a Steelers fan. What most of us aren’t sure of is did he always act like a clown or did it spike up at some point? I don’t remember clown stories early in his career but they may have been hidden.
He was never the same after the Vontaze Burfict dirty hit, there was AB before the hit and AB after the hit.

This. My Sister-in-law dated someone deep in the organization who worked with the WR's back in that time period - she met AB several times at team events, and out, etc. Nobody ever said anything negative about the guy. Nice, upstanding guy. Team loved him, ownership loved him, Pittsburgh loved him. Then....After that hit, like a light switch, he went nuts.

Stopped listening to music when I drive years ago. Usually got a podcast on. Have always enjoyed Rogan. Antonio Brown was just sat down with him. Hate judging people, but that dude processes info a little different then most. Couldn't finish it. Ha ha

I too used to listen to music in the car when I was young. Then I started listening to talk radio, and now I don't listen to the radio in the car. I find it annoying and distracting.

Distracting? From what?

At my age, probably driving. Jk..., call it partially due to age, but to me it's just noise.

wild scenes - antonio brown got jumped after an aden ross boxing event to steal his chains. he chased the guys down pulled a gun and started firing. he's been arrested don't know about anyone else. everyone in the area who wasn't in the fight started streaming it lol
😳

Thread here, with video a few posts down.

Why do I get the feeling things are just going to keep getting worse and worse for this dude? I mean, yeah he reportedly got jumped here, but he’s also conceal carrying and fired shots.

So I’m not victim blaming, I’m just pointing out that it’s AB involved in some s***, carrying a gun, and firing said gun in a crowd.

Judge it as you wish.

Very unfortunate that people can't go out in public with expensive jewelry and not have someone try to steal it. Look what happened to Ricky Pearsall last year. But at the same time, you have to wonder about the wisdom of attending an event like this wearing expensive jewelry and carrying a gun because you know there is a decent chance of someone trying to rob you. Maybe either leave the jewelry at home or find another form of entertainment for the evening. Again, you should be able to dress according to your tastes and desires without threat of someone robbing you, but that's unfortunately not the way of the world these days. You have to adapt to the situation.

Kind of like the fact that AB ran them down, but shooting the gun off in a crowd was a bit extreme

I agree on all points.
1. Sad state of the world
2. Knowing the state of the world, don’t go to a public event like this strapped and wearing Ft. Knox around yo neck.
3. Firing into a crowd is deeply misguided behavior.

It's not deeply misguided, it's criminal.

Unless it was in Florida, in which case he'd probably get street named after him.

Either way dude needs to go to jail.

Going to jail for this might be the best thing for him. I agree with the idea that his trajectory only gets worse from here.

What about them? Criminal and should be prosecuted for assault and attempted robbery. Not sure if that carries jail time in whatever jurisdiction this occurred.

But you don't get to shoot at people just because they hit you or robbed you.

There is no argument that he feared for his life which, could make a case for justification. The act was over and AB clearly chased them down and fired at them.

He must go to jail.

Man's got a right to protect his property
It's South Beach, lot of syndicate crime down there especially thieves
That's the 3-0-5 for you, can be walking out of an event at the VIP door and still get knocked over
Poor Antonio, was trying to support his fighter and ends up in a late night dance with death, he's lucky to be alive
Maybe this will be the turning point for him and his life moving forward

T&P AB

As more reports come out, he shot up into the air to scare them off. Seems reasonable considering the situation. Guess he could have done nothing and put his fate into the hands of some punks. I think he chose wisely. Police must have agreed since he was released.

Everything that goes up comes down. It is highly illegal to fire into the air - there are documented cases of folks dying on NYE & July 4th from this.

Dead wrong on both accounts.

This wasn’t one on one. Multiple people involved. So just stand there and take your chances? I sure as hell wouldn’t if I was carrying.

He’s not going to jail. Self defense.

OK, but a big difference between stupidly firing up into the air to “celebrate” vs doing it to stop multiple punks from trying to rob you.

Seems justified here IMO.

Self defense doesn’t apply when the robbers are running away.

All parties are guilty here. The dudes who tried to rob him are criminals, and AB is guilty of (probably) illegally carrying, and also unlawful discharge in whatever county/city.

The act against AB stopped when the criminals ran away. If you want to make an argument for opening fire while being attacked, I'm probably with you.

But the perps ran away. The threat was over. When AB chased after them and opened fire he became the perp. That act is entirely criminal.*

*ETA: Except, apparently in Miami where it's just "Boys will be boys."

They were no longer trying to rob him. They were running away.

Separate acts.

I didn’t want to assume because it’s possible he has a CC license. Doubtful, but possible.
A CC isn't a license to open fire.
Never said it was. I very clearly and specially referred only to his carrying the weapon.

I called out the discharge of the weapon separately.

It’s possible in that county carrying concealed doesn’t require a permit.

Interesting that he wasn’t arrested if it was so obvious.

Haven’t seen video or one mention of the shooting happening while they were running away. Clicked on several stories but must have missed the ones that stated that is what happened. Regardless, I’m OK with his actions. Maybe those dipshiots got scared straight after hearing the gunshots. Probably not though. No harm, no foul. Not an AB apologist. I generally refer to him as “batshoit crazy” but sick of this shiot happening. Although since it was Florida, they probably will be punished if caught. Let’s hope so.

Never said it was. I very clearly and specially referred only to his carrying the weapon.

I called out the discharge of the weapon separately.

It’s possible in that county carrying concealed doesn’t require a permit.
I didn't intend to suggest you did.

To be fair, are we certain it was AB that fired?

He definitely chased the guys with a gun in his hand but the video on BS doesn't capture the shooter firing.

Antonio Brown was on Kill Tony (#1 live comedy podcast/youtube) as a panel member a month ago roughly. Didn't speak much at all - nonsensical when he did.

Dude is an owner of a legal marijuana chain and has a helmet store. Dude was high as {bleep} and wearing a WW2 style hard helmet. Downed over 10 white russians.

Still not sane. LOL

Yeah, that’s pretty wild. As I said above, it just seems like the stories will trend worse and worse.

Maybe someone will intervene and help him turn things around. The businesses seem like a good thing, so hopefully he has sharp people running them.

Maybe this will be the turning point for him and his life moving forward
Maybe. But probably not.

Is Vegas giving odds on this? I’ll take “probably not” at -25000
As usual my sense of humor is taken literally
I appreciate that i make it sound convincing but I look at AB as a walking CTE case
Whether that's actually true or not...

NAH, I caught it. I was just adding onto the joke with a joke.

you should be able to wear your bling to an event like this....it's kinda why you have it in the first place.....for occasions like this...it does make you a target....but that has been the case since people started wearing jewelry...like literally forever...it comes with the territory...

I'm assuming he was legally carrying.....curious about getting into a event/sporting event with a weapon whether you can legally carry or not....?....guess that's ok...?

either way....when people are running away from you and you are actively chasing them, self defense and protecting your property goes out the window...if he fires while the act is being committed and feels he is in danger protecting himself and his property "at that moment" ....that is one thing.....but once they get the goods and take off things change...IMO

Sure, which is why wealthy people have bodyguards.

I’d bet absolutely not.

Correct.
