It certainly isn't the winnings as the leagues I am in are all more low stakes ($50 or less entry fees) leagues made up of friends that go back to high school or longer.

It is all about the smack and bragging rights. I guess that would fall under the competitve aspect. It does nothing for me as far as increasing my love of the NFL. I already love football - maybe it gives me the reason to watch a truly crappy matchup on a given Sunday.

I love watching the games and it makes the off season tolerable.

The money is nice. No big deal to me. I have been playing since 1997 and I have only won two championships, both this year.....so I am WAY behind in the money.

The money keeps everyone honest and involved.

Same reason I developed an interesting in the stock market or strategy games or politics, I like to analyze and figure things out. There doesn't seem to be any reason beyond that. Set a problem in front of me and I start trying to solve it. The hardest thing for me to do is let a problem go without even thinking about it.

I voted other. I play mostly free or low stakes games so it's not the money. I find it more easy to enjoy a game when I don't have to wonder how my players are doing on the other games. My view is FF started as a way for friends to gather together and determine who could be a better GM. Evaluating talent, drafting properly, making key trades, not to mention another angle on football to discuss with their friends.
:lmao: Not to mention strangers. Thats what this Message board is all about. Just imagine all the bored people at work if there wasn't a fantasy football message board.

Other.

I like the challenge more than anything. The 12 team dynasty league I'm in has some of the most skilled owners I've ever played with. I used to play in 3 other leagues with alot of morons won some cash frequently, I quit them all to focus on this dynasty league. Its a freebie league, but I really enjoy the challenge with these owners skill levels. I've never finished above 6th place in 7 years and yet despite my lack of success I love it. I guess thats what makes me tick and how I'm wired. I personnally get no thrill or rush from winning.
Mr. Millen is that you! :lmao:

Voted Other....both of the top options apply to me.

Proving I am a better GM than my 11 buddies is priceless. They hate me. When they look at the league Record Book they repeatedly see my team name splashed all over.

Other - great way to keep in touch with friends

Other - this year an owner in my league surprised us with a stripper at the draft to post names on the board and give lap dances to owners selecting before his team...it is the stuff like that the we will remember forever

At some point you have to set time limits though. Like golf.
