Sorry @Badmojo... I'm jumping the gun on a Friday for curiosity.

Pretty Wide spread for this guy.  I like him in almost everything...

Cheers of course, but that shouldn't be on the list.  Just movies I'd go White Men Can't Jump. That was a big deal and showed he could be someone other than Woodrow Tiberius Boyd.

:suds:

Not his signature but my favorite was zombieland.  but I'll go with natural born killers out of the movies.

His filmography is pretty much a list of movies I really enjoyed but never think of when compiling a favorites list.

Cheers is a given, but when I first saw the poll I thought of more in a leading or co-lead role so I voted White Men Can't Jump.

Kelly, my darlin', you are my sunshine. When we're together, I feel fine. Your smile is so lovely, your hair is so clean. You make me feel the whole world is mine. Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, K-E-L-L-Y. Why? Because you're Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly of mine. Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine.

It's between Sledgehammer, Choppin' Broccoli & this for Song of the Eighties

Natural Born Killers

Zombieland

Flynt

Voted Natural

Eta: George Wendt made Cheers, Woody just replaced Coach

Not really the point or the question.  Woody wasn't even there at the beginning and for some of us Coach was always superior anyway but he'll still always be Woody the bartender to me.
He'll always be Mickey Knox to me.

That role made his career. Before it's all goofy ####, after he stars in serious movies. Without Natural Born Killers, no way he gets People vs Larry Flynt

I'd say Cheers put him on the map but he was one part of many on an all-time classic sitcom. And some like Coach character better or just as much. Pending viewer's age range and whether they loved that show, he may always be Woody. WMCJump or NBK for me and I'm going with his best performance imo which was NBK.

I think your nuts - he had already been in the following movies before Natural Born Killers and he had the opportunity to be in those because of Cheers.

Doc Hollywood

White Men Can't Jump

Indecent Proposal

While Cheers is great.,....there was a real delineation between TV star and Movie star back then. WHITE MEN CAN'T JUMP made him a viable box office draw and put him where he is today.

Woody Harrelson is Woody Boyd.   That is his signature role.  It doesn't matter if Coach was better or that he was part of a TV show and not the star.  The question is what is his signature role and that has to be Woody Boyd.  First thing to come to mind when thinking of Woody Harrelson.

This, so much.

While not his most featured role, I thought he was outstanding in his brief role in No Country for Old Men. He owned every scene he was in.

Indecent Proposal may be the apex of his career.

I'd say White Men Can't Jump is his signature role though.  Billy Ho.

That's a good point. There was a bigger difference between the two back then.
