The Giants have an insane pass rush, and it'd be smart to get Flynn ready for it if something happens to Rodgers, right?

Whatever he normally gets? The Packers will have the #1 oline together again for the first time since week 3.
The #1 oline? Do you mean their #1 oline as in all their starters?
Correct, all the starters have not been healthy together since something like week 3 or so.
Now, do you see that as a mixed blessing? Yes, their "best" players are now healthy and playing together, but they haven't had a chance to actually play together in a while?

There is the chance there is some rust. But the only one who has been out an extended time is Clifton. And its a blessing as the veteran is better at handling a rusher like JPP than Newhouse is.Its not a terrible thing if Newhouse plays (better run blocker than Clifton)...its more important having the stable interior with Lang, Wells, Sitton lining up together.Rather than Dietrich Smith in there or Lang at RT and so on.

Absolutely. I think the outcome of the game could easily hinge on whether the entire offense is on the same page or not, especially with reguards to protection assignments, snap count, etc. I'm sure it's something the coaching staff is aware of, we'll find out Sunday if it's an issue or not. Ultimately it's the playoffs and you want your best players on the line against the Giants dline.

Thinking with Flynn in there, the playbook choices the coaches would have made would have kept GB in that game better. Might have needed to bench Rodgers in the second half, he looked lost out there.

:goodposting:Brian Brohm would have been an upgrade today.
Been saying this for awhile now: The Packers were going into the playoffs starting their 2nd-best qb. And now they're going to let their best qb walk in free agency. They need to pull a Favre and dump Rodgers now and keep Flynn. In a few years, Packer fans will get over it and thank Thompson.

After Rodgers failed to deliver in the 2nd half, you at least have to put Flynn out there to see what he can do. The Giants hadn't prepared for him and he had just came off of a big game in week 17 with some help from the refs.

this isn't madden, stop this nonsense.how reactionary can you get ? matt flynn has 1.5 nfl games under his belt.this isnt baseball or even soccer. you don't sub your best player and a likely mvp. stop it.

It's obvious to anyone with two eyes that the best Packers QB didn't play a single down yesterday.

It's obvious to anyone with two eyes all the internet fishermen that think they are cool that the best Packers QB didn't play a single down yesterday.
Fixed it for you.

All I'm saying is at least give him the chance while the Packers still had a chance to win the game. When a QB comes in the D hasn't prepared for, anything can happen. Like when Billy Volek went all crazy before the opponents had enough game film to break down and plan for him.
