What player is on your radar that wasn't before? (1 Viewer)

BigTex

Don't mess with Texas
I have two at this point:

WR Rod Streater Oak, he's 6'2 and with a 4.46 he's someone that has moved up my draft board. It's not just because of his measurements but I've seen both of Oakland's pre-season games and he's constantly catching everything thrown his way. I remember watch some of the Temple games and he continued to pop off the screen.

TE Rob Housler ARI, he looks to be athletic and I'd like to see how they are going to use him.

Who's on your radar?

ETA: I already have Denarius Moore and it was because of his pre-season play that I drafted him and I'm completely happy with what he is doing. I hate to have two WRs on the same team but I can't ignore what Streater is doing.

I thought Andre Holmes looked pretty beasty from the small amount of plays I saw him in his last preseason game. Seems like his ceiling is very high.

Also, Travaris Cadet seems like the handcuff for Sproles. It seems to me that Thomas, Ingram, and Ivory are all less suited to take over Sproles job than is Cadet.

was going to talk about Streater until I opened the thread. Don't worry about having two guys on the same team. Ford is hurt, Moore has been out for awhile with the hamstring, and DHB had injury issues last year, so Streater could be a definite fantasy factor this year.

after watching the Car game, you gotta like Tolbert, he was a force, and Stewart and DWilliams seem to always get nicked up.

:goodposting: I too have been watching Cadet but there's just sooooo much uncertainty in NO that I don't know if I'd touch him or not yet what he's doing can't go unnoticed.....

Posted this in the game thread last night...but I wouldn't be surprised if Ivory gets cut in favor of Cadet. Cadet can do so much more than Ivory...and Ivory has been fumbling alot in camp

Looks like Jerome Simpson is gonna see a lot of targets from Ponder.
Simpson is a teaser, I've pick him up off the WW and dropped him a least 3 times in the last two years but maybe he'll get things rolling in Minny.

I have grabbed St. Louis rookie RB Daryl Richardson in a few leagues. He was a seventh round pick out of Abilene Christian in the most recent draft. I don't think he's a can't-miss prospect or anything like that, but he comes from the Clyde Gates/Bernard Scott family tree and boasts pretty filthy combine numbers with 4.4 speed, an 11'3" broad jump, and a 40.5" vert. He is undersized for the NFL at just 192 pounds, but looks like an interesting project.

Steven Jackson is on his last legs as a viable NFL back and I'm not sold on Isaiah Pead at all, so Richardson seems like a guy who could potentially come out of nowhere this year or the next to become a relevant player in FF. At the very least, he seems to have a pretty clear path to the #3 RB job. His stat line tonight was 8 carries for 35 yards and a TD, and 1 catch for 7 yards. He lead all Rams backs with 9 touches. NFL.com put up a clip of his TD:

Hard to glean much from a four yard run up the middle, but he does look like he's got some burst.

Given that he was an unspectacular college player and a very late draft pick, I think it's unlikely that he'll ever amount to much in the NFL. He has some compelling raw ability though and I think the opportunity is sneaky good with Jackson getting old and Pead failing to impress. Given how hard it is to find upside RBs off the waiver wire in dynasty leagues, I'd consider taking a flyer if you have the roster space to let him sit there for a while.
