What player would you pick to start a franchise? (1 Viewer)

This thread reminded me immediately of this 2014 thread and its 2013 predecessor. I would love to see the SP do a third iteration of this.

As the answer to the OP's question is obvious, IMO, here's a follow-up question for the thread: if each NFL team had to pick one (different) player to start a franchise, as in the above threads ... how many of the 32 picks would be QBs?

Prescott... he proved himself over the course of the entire season last year. He is also doing very well this year. The Cowboys current problems should be placed at the feet of injuries/suspensions on defense... not on Prescott.

Those were fun (I was FUBAR at the time) but they are another example of how short lived a QB's career can be. Of course, I'm still happy with the first guy I took in the original draft.

I was not expecting to go this way, but while I debated the options, I decided he's worth the pick and the moderate risk.

What do I want from my franchise player?

Leadership

The ability to take over a game when needed

Good teammate (sort of goes with #1, but there's more to it)

Youth is a factor but not definitive

In the end, I'm taking a young kid who has seen the playoffs, is a proven leader, and while he didn't have the draft stock coming out that many others have, the kid has it all.

1.04 The Titans take Russell Wilson, QB

Following up with von Miller at 1.18 wasn't bad either.

I'm assuming this is referring to a starting a new franchise (expansion team). No way I take somebody over 30. Everything considered, give me Carson Wentz.

The way Wentz is progressing, he's virtually guaranteed to be an elite QB within a couple seasons.

Revisit this question today. Current players, current ages. Is there any doubt who anyone or any team would pick to build their franchise around?

Honestly, I love the Chiefs picks this year. Kareem Hunt and Mahomes?

I think I'd pick Mahomes, man.

Dude is gonna light up the field like Favre but be able to run it like Cam or, hell, even the dude who's starting in front of him now...
Nice selection
