I think climate change could be solved eventually.  What do you think, FFA?

Most of the ones America is presently experiencing.

Personal freedom is at most a couple generations old in this country. Unfortunately, the "freed" classes are not only still celebrating, most of them neither know their roles in society nor even that society needs us each to have cooperative roles for the culture to function effectively. No one reading this will live to see the apogee of this cycle and it will be difficult to watch and, even possibly, for America to survive a culture where everyone is a nation and liberty becomes little more than license, but we'll find the way when we have to, if not before.

The answer will be behavioral. I've said several times here that, a few centuries from now, society will laugh at the mental health of our culture the way we presently laugh at the medical health of a few centuries ago. The answers are all there - we are simply not in a mood to get down to cases yet and wont be for a while. There's still a whole lot of life to be taken personally before we decide to behave again.

Feeding hungry people.

America can feed their hungry people. Help your local community and just do it. All of us, here amd among our family and friends, can afford to feed their hungry neighbors.

We definitely could move to clean, renewable energy. We could provide a basic living compensation for every American. Health care. These problems are solvable.

Who's going to pay for it?

i don't work part of a 45 hour work week to feed some parasite

I won't be able to afford enough drugs and alcohol with that
yeah, one of the downsides.   you can afford a recreational amount of both, but if you want to go full blown addict, you might have to find an alternative source of income if you know what I mean.

I may have to parlay these dong drawings in to a career

Not sure who you are labeling as parasites but you are currently working part of your 45 hour week to feed others. Also to protect them, provide healthcare for them, educate them, etc.

I think part of our taxes should be optional.

Namely social security and Medicare. If a person doesn't want to pay into these programs, that's fine. They just will not have access to the service.

Same thing goes for tax dollars that go towards public schools. If you don't want to pay them, fine. Your children just won't be able to attend public school.

Why not just make all schools private then?  Sounds like under your plan, you're just paying for your own kids anyways.  Those parents that can't afford it, tough.

I'd need to know how much money actually went towards the schools. Private schools can be very pricey.

Furthermore, privatizing all schools would open up a can of worms on teacher education. Any bozo can open up a private school as long as they have the funding. There's no standard on teacher education or certification. At least under the current public school system teachers have to be certified/have a specific number of classroom hours before they can teach.

So if you're poor and thus can't pay much of the cost of public school, who picks up the difference?

I deal with many people from the public school system.

They aren't putting much in to it

I don't like this one. There's a public benefit to having an educated populace even if you don't have kids yourself, they're grown already or you have vacation property in an area and don't like the taxes.

I would the same for things like SS as well. Just because you don't plan to use it, doesn't there aren't people out there might need it. SS isn't sustainable now. Allow people to opt out and it will collapse. I think there's a societal benefit to helping support elderly and disabled.
