What TV shows are you currently watching? (1 Viewer)

Peaky Blinders - losing interest in Season 2, however.

Black Mirror - Started off great but the last couple episodes in S02 have been duds.

Gotham - Currently midway through S02 but love it.

American Horror Story - Almost done S02.  Not as good at S01, but I'm enjoying it.  Jessica Lange is awesome.

I finished the run last night.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this series.

Everything was above average or better, the writing, the directing, the acting, the production, all of it.  Every guest star they used was near perfect in their role and they had so many recognizable actors too.

There was probably only one character in the 100's I met that I did not like, and that was Arlo.

I would have like to see Tim used a little more in the story lines but with a cast that big there are only so many lines to go around.
Loved Justified. The fact I am a huge Elmore Leonard fan added to my enjoyment, but even if you have never read any Leonard books I would think it would still be a damn enjoyable show.

One that is a little off the beaten path is Broadchurch.

There have been two seasons on BBC America and the third (and final) season begins airing in June.

Not loving any of these, but watching...

Sense8 (really up and down- everything good and terrible you'd imagine from the wachowski siblings)

Master of None (just started S2- maintains being cute more than funny)

Gomorrah (italian organized crime drama- doesn't quite hit the highs it should, but decent stuff)

the 100 (it's terrible, but   )

enjoying these HBO shows more:

the Leftovers (has been incredible, especially this it's last season)

Veep (not quite as biting as previous seasons, but still very very funny)

Silicon Valley (I don't love this as much as others- but it's damned funny and like Veep has a fantastic ensemble)

Amazing, I just started Sense8 this past weekend. Great minds, yadda, yadda. Dildoes, man, dildoes.

(will need some replacement shows soon)

The Leftovers

Fargo

The Americans

I finished up both seasons of Rome.  I enjoyed it up to the point they made the casting change of Octavian.  The first actor was great, the second sucked in the role.  The fact that it changed from one episode to the next was even worse and for a really dumb reason too.

========================

I am in middle of season 7 of Mad Men.  I love when this show focuses on the advertising part of the business but I don't enjoy the soap opera pieces very much.  The span of time that occurs between some episodes also leaves one feeling disjointed when watching.

I love Rome. It has several of my favorite roles in any series - Pullo, Vorenus, Marc Antony and Octavia

The one casting I didn't like was the one who played Cleopatra - too mousy.

Brockmire and Priest are the only shows I can watch with 3 little kids in my house(unless you count all the Disney shows)

they monopolize the tvs, most of my viewing is on my iPad

Animal Kingdom on TBS is pretty entertaining
I had high hopes for this one because i had even commented in this forum that  the movie had potential as a series (though i think i said they should roll the 'orphan' back to about 12-13yo to show the full making of a criminal). Started out well, but got messy & soapy and, after the first couple of S2 eps, i found i didn't give a #### about any of the leads and lost interest.

Yeah it's more guilty pleasure type viewing than great television but entertaining nonetheless

Yeah, i keep wanting to like TBS/TNT shows cuz most of the original concepts are pretty cool, but they all crash in execution. Loved the approach in the new Will with Elizabethan theater as kind of a burgeoning punk scene, but it's too wrapped up in pretty people like most of their shows and i can't figure out how they could conceive of making the wisest scripter in literary history starting out as an eager beaver just trying to find his way. yeesh...

also finished up fear the walking dead, Season whatever. it almost got good for a couple of episodes, but then writers.

My wife insists on watching this. I don't like it. The original Walking Dead suffers from a bunch of problems, but it is still reasonably entertaining a lot of the time.

Fear the Walking Dead is just plain bad, with only occasional (and brief) forays into entertaining.

just a quick note:  The current season is only at the mid way point.  Season 3 is a 16 episode season and I think they have only done 8.  The second half of Season 3 returns in September

Agree on the casting of Cleopatra. Wasn't a good choice.

And not sure if you are aware or watch the show but the actress that played Octavia is Mike's Daughter-in-law on Better Call Saul.

Yes, noticed it immediately. It was strange to hear her talk without a British accent!

We watched an episode of Fargo this weekend and kind of fell off the radar despite liking it quite a bit. I'll need to make sure we keep it in the rotation. Lots of stuff happened in 1 episode.

Home sick and ran through all seven episodes of Big Little Lies.  Very enjoyable character study of a show with some great actors.  The story was a bit hokey but it provided enough interesting plot developments and twists to keep me watching and looking forward to the next episode.

I'd rate it 3.75/5

I fly a lot so am always looking for good series to watch that I missed.

Some good ones recently that are older and a bit off the radar were:

Generation Kill - HBO

Alone - Reality show competition about surviving in woods.

The Missing - Family loses kid on a vacation. Mystery show.

Generation Kill is pretty good.

The book was also solid. There was another book that was written by one of the officers who was portrayed in the show that was even better: One Bullet Away

I didn't the show was based in any reality until they started referring to General Mattis.

Good characters. The kid who plays the main driver - same kid who played Ziggy season 2 of The Wire - has some sensational lines.

I'll check out the book. I'm a sucker for that genre.

Just blasted through all 20 episodes (S1 and S2) of The Man in the High Castle within about 9-10 days.  I would have gone faster but I enjoyed it so much that I rewatched several of the episodes in their entirety and portions of others, so I probably took in about 30 eps' worth overall.

Outstanding series.  On the level of Mad Men for me in terms of quality.

We watched the first season a few months ago but haven't started the second yet. Was the second season as good as the first?

I have the entire season of Taboo on the dvr and finally got around to starting it. Oof, is it slow. Might be a tough one to get through.

Better, actually.  Especially if you like Alexa Davalos ( ), Rufus Sewell, and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as the Trade Minister.  Kido, too.  Some outstanding acting and excellent writing.

I kid slightly.

I watched both seasons... really enjoyed the scope, story idea and some of the acting. didn't enjoy some of the other acting and writing. it's a decent enough watch, but nothing to put it in the same breath as the top tier of tv, IMO. agree that the second season was more interesting in some ways. but considering the story- found it dragged a bit through both.

taboo.. totally forgot about that one. slow pimp walk through mud in an overcoat and top hat. I just saved you having to watch the whole series. YWIA.

Ah.  Well, despite being a sci-fi guy I knew nothing of the original novel, so when some of my suspicions were confirmed I was thrilled.  Plus, unbelievable costume and set design.  Did I mention Alexa Davalos?

was she the lead?... freaking loved looking at her. not so much the acting... but gorgeous.

yeah- for me the scope of it was great... including sets, cg, costumes. and the two japanese actors in particular were incredible.
