The leg. More so for the image of hitting the Qb, not the injury.

Hard to boil him down to one play when he did things like become the first defensive player in NFL history unanimously voted the league's MVP (1986).

It's a shame he isn't considered the NFL career sack leader. He lost 9.5 sacks because they weren't an official stat.

He lost some because sacks weren't an official stat till a couple of years into his career.
He lost 9.5 sacks due to the lack of "official" sacks, which first began being recorded in 1982. That would "vault" him to 5th on the all-time list, except of course for all the players who lost more sacks than him (Alan Page, Deacon Jones, and Jack Youngblood). For what it's worth, Taylor was not a unanimous selection for AP MVP. Dickerson had 1800+ rushing yards and Marino had the second biggest season of his career in 1986.

I'm a homer. I can't let facts get in the way of my big blue goggles.

As for the second play listed in the poll, I actually remember his INT TD against the Niners in the 49-3 playoff rout more than the Thanksgiving INT.

It wasn't one play but the '88 Saints game, destroying the Saints with an injured shoulder.
i remember him rushing from the outside and sacking the QB again and again and again... then, being so hopped up on goofballs that he played the playoff rounds one year on a broken ankle.

Yes, sadly it would be more representative of his life if his HoF bust was made of glass and stained with resin.

LT was so good I don't know that there should be "one" signature play. The guy had a signature career, and it's hard to boil it down to one play. I'd have a hard time thinking Montana had one play that defined him.

But... of the choices above I guess I'd go with the leg I guess.

how bout the cocaine, hooker, hotel room thing...............

mostly kidding. A Cowboys fan has to get his jabs in when he can.

LT was an all time great on the field. unblockable, changed the game in the 80s. Thats his sig.

Rather than a single play it would be his sack moves and how he changed LB play with them.
