Only partially kidding here--but money and va-Gina are two things that would greatly diminish the amount of violence in the world. People tend to be less angry when they are comfortable financially. I won't get into the details of how va-Gina (or lack of it) plays a factor as it's pretty obvious to most. On a serious note--I hope that people start treating each other better--as the level of violence that we are starting to see is becoming disgustingly scary. I seriously get worried to watch the news anymore because every time that I do--it just seems to be getting worse.
Don't forget religious fundamentalism. That along with poverty and sexual frustration are the big 3 .

The middle east hates us. Its never going to stop. Just have to accept it.
If I was them, I'd hate us too. Most of them live in ####boxes in the desert while their royalty swims in oil money. And they've all been brainwashed to believe its all our fault.

The United States needs to ask itself why it's the face of western intermingling in the Middle East.
"King Making", regime change etc has been an overall disastrous venture. Yet somehow Americans don't want to remember that part of the story which is a root cause of this cluster####.
If you are an American and supported past military intervention in the Middle East, you are partially to blame.

Despite what the headlines tell you we live in an increasingly peaceful and less violent world. I don't know that violence will ever stop altogether but it's certainly improving.

1. When they learn to love their own children more than they hate us, enough to actively dissuade them from offering themselves up in acts of murderous suicide would be a good start.
2. Barring that, they will need to be made to fear us so utterly that they don't dare attack us out of sheer dread of the subsequent horrors which would be inflicted upon them.

The violence is never going to stop. Too many people want what their neighbor has or they believe in a religion that preaches non-believers need to be eliminated

The terrorists don't want it to stay that way. They want to frighten us into escalation so they can radicalize moderates and escalate even more. The word "terror" is right there in the name and everything. It's not like they're playing chess here. They're trying to provoke idiots into escalation through fear, plain and simple.
We can't stop the violence. We can control it through a combination of careful, surgical military strikes, coordinated Western intelligence efforts, fearlessness and tolerance of the larger religious/ethnic groups from which these monsters come. A basic understanding of probability helps too. Don't let them win.

Everybody does but it is getting worse not better.Maybe I'm a dreamer yearning for a more peaceful humanity.
When you have muslims who are willing to take their own lives and leave their children and families in the name of fairy tale promises how can you stop it? The last bomber`s father actually helped him construct the bomb knowing dam well it would kill his son. How do you stop that?
These attacks are horrific but violence and murder happens every day in the US as well

In fairness, hasn't humanity faced this before? I don't think this is new to the world just new to our generation.
Kamikaze fighters in Japan?
Vietnamese children being strapped with bombs?
I'm sure if you sit with a vet from any war they will tell you of the atrocities they saw with children being used as weapons for the beliefs of their parents/government.

I think a lot of it is opportunity. While radicals will always be around, they need someone to carry out their message. If you provide social and economic opportunities that many of us enjoy(ed), I think many would behave as we do.
But when you have very little to live for, you become easily influenced. Wealth inequality and automation threaten to make it worse but I'd argue globalization would help raise all ships.

People with something, anything, to live for usually aren't looking to end their lives. When death seems a better alternative than living, it's probably pretty appealing to want to go out in a blaze of glory.
That and, in general, people suck.....

Funny how people jumped right to terrorism in response to the OP's question when there are over 15,000 murders each year right here in the good old US of A.
Not to say terrorism isn't bad, but if you are looking for the primary driver of people killing people, that ain't it.

Morality is the key.
Fifty or sixty years ago we knew that. Coming out of wars, America largely saw what was right - the need for regular people to have stuff and say over their lives; the need of others who fought alongside us who we hadn't considered regular (non-whites, women, foreigners) to be regular, the need to figure out a worldwide freedom from the kind of want that kept whole societies irregular and how that bred more war. We cleared our plates, collected for UNICEF, made charity and care our churches' largest function.
Then freedom happened. Slowly at first, then exploded. Poor people had a little dough for once, dark people got to to cast off some of the invisible chains, women saw that they were more than adjunct humans, foreigners watched America's every step.
Freedom feels good, ####in' outrageous good. Ain't nobody ever gonna tell me how to feel again.
Wait a minute, lady. Wait a minute, son. There was rules of togetherness that us got the stuff and the ways to eventually see the need and be able to to offer freedom to you and we all gotta follow those wa.................hey, where'dyago?!
We been dancing in the streets - most of those streets being over the airways - for forty+ yrs now. Turns out we've forgotten that this all became possible TOGETHER and is only sustainable TOGETHER. But no, no, no - ain't nobody tellin me what to do and i'm gonna raise my kids thinking they've got no one to answer to but themselves. The free don't respect your decency as theirs, you can't be tolerant of freedom because they're so indecent and you sure as heck want things to be just like they were BEFORE your dads decided tolerance should be a part of decency, but they dont respect that YOU gave em their freedom, the ungrateful bastardos!
And you hate your own people fundamentally and you can pretty much identify them by their freedoms. Oh, and a trillion-dollar industy makes money from celebrating the differences over the decency. And the foreigners have watched every step, we are their movie.
And morality is the only way back.
