It's already been announced that the KC @ NYJ game originally slated for Sunday night in Week 17 has been moved to the afternoon.
What do you think the new game will be? The NFL doesn't have to announce it until Monday. I'm betting Steelers at Baltimore. If the Browns beat Cincy this week and the Titans beat the Jets, then the Steelers could have a huge game next Sunday -- win and they're the AFC North champ, lose and they're out of the playoffs.
Here are the other "candidates" for week 17 (no games are protected by FOX or CBS):
IMPOSSIBLE
DAL @ WAS - Dallas already has reached their max amount of prime time games.
KC @ NYJ - Original Sunday night game. Already moved out of primetime.
UNLIKELY
CIN @ MIA - Meaningless
BUF @ PHI - Meaningless
NO @ CHI - Probably meaningless, depending on this week
STL @ ARI - Meaningless
JAX @ HOU - Meaningless game. Jax clinches with a win this week (vs OAK).
POSSIBLE
DET @ GB - Packers could be playing for home field advantage, unless Dallas wins earlier in the day, making this game entirely meaningless.
SEA @ ATL - Seattle is playing for #3 seed, but that's it.
CAR @ TB - See Seattle
SD @ OAK - Playing for seeding
TEN @ IND - Titans might be eliminated by kickoff, and who wants a Sorgi-fest on prime time?
SF @ CLE - Pretty meaningless if Browns win to clinch a spot this weekend.
BEST CANDIDATES
PIT @ BAL - Already discussed.
MIN @ DEN - This is the other one I could see, as it will likely set up as a game the Vikings need to win to clinch a playoff spot. But the Vikings are on this Sunday Night, and the Broncos have had 4 home national games already.
Bottom line, Pitt-Balt is a great rivalry, the Steelers bring huge national audiences, and this is likely to be the game with the most playoff ramifications.
