Verbal Kint Posted Today, 07:25 AM The Giants would get to have home field advantage in the Superdome. Either one of these may be accepted as the correct answer.................They would fix the games the week before to ensure it didn't happen.
I don't think the NFL is worried about the JEts being good anytime soon.
hahaha... There would be 2 games played in New Jeresy that Sunday. They would fix the games the week before to ensure it didn't happen.
Conference Championship games are usually both played on Sunday, (this year at 3pm and 8pm), so that solution prolly wouldn't work. There'd be an easy solution.Either one game would be on Saturday and the other on Sunday.Or, One game would be at 11 AM, and the other would be at 7 or 8 PM. Plenty of time to get the stadium set up again.
Well, they're "usually" played in different stadiums, but that's not happening here, hence the original question.Conference Championship games are usually both played on Sunday, (this year at 3pm and 8pm), so that solution prolly wouldn't work. There'd be an easy solution.Either one game would be on Saturday and the other on Sunday.Or, One game would be at 11 AM, and the other would be at 7 or 8 PM. Good call . . . I am pretty sure the NFL would never try anything different to solve a problem they never had before. In fact, they probably would not even delay the 2nd game if the first ran over. It would be a little confusing at first, but most of the time, the games would be going on at different spots on the field.Conference Championship games are usually both played on Sunday, (this year at 3pm and 8pm), so that solution prolly wouldn't work. There'd be an easy solution.Either one game would be on Saturday and the other on Sunday.Or, One game would be at 11 AM, and the other would be at 7 or 8 PM. Read post 12. Just in case you want to watch the first half of the Giant-Pack game the game starts at 6:30.Conference Championship games are usually both played on Sunday, (this year at 3pm and 8pm), so that solution prolly wouldn't work. There'd be an easy solution.Either one game would be on Saturday and the other on Sunday.Or, One game would be at 11 AM, and the other would be at 7 or 8 PM. It would be on Saturday and Sunday. Why? It almost happen one year and thats how it would have been handled.Reson. OT, IF the first game went into Over time it would make things way too hard. But the Jets really do need to get there own field. That team is a joke.I think you'd see a 1 p.m. game and an 8 p.m. game. Still "normal" football times and enough time to get the stadium ready. Then you'd see both teams demand their own stadium.
uhhhh - Jet's and Giants are building a state of the art new stadium where each is a co-owner - no more tenant status. As for your question - they couldn't make it too on the same day without moving it somewhat - the field would be fine but it would take a long time to filter the parking lot. That would take hoursIt would be on Saturday and Sunday. Why? It almost happen one year and thats how it would have been handled.Reson. So there building two Stadiums? No. That my friend is the problem.Jets are toooooo cheap.uhhhh - Jet's and Giants are building a state of the art new stadium where each is a co-owner - no more tenant status. As for your question - they couldn't make it too on the same day without moving it somewhat - the field would be fine but it would take a long time to filter the parking lot. Aren't the end zones painted with the Team's logo? It's really no big deal.Converting GIANT STADIUM into the Jets home field takes literally 5 minutes. They just take a giant green bed sheet and drape it over the GIANT STADIUM logo out front. So not only do the New York Jets play in New Jersey but they also play at Giant Stadium. Comical.
That's just a big sticker that can peel off and on in under 2 minutes.Aren't the end zones painted with the Team's logo? It's really no big deal.Converting GIANT STADIUM into the Jets home field takes literally 5 minutes. They just take a giant green bed sheet and drape it over the GIANT STADIUM logo out front. I disagree - they were going to sink mega bucksinto a Manhattan Stadium when the politicians sold them out - they will own the new stadium just as much as the Giants so why aren't the Giants considerd cheap? It will be a billion dollar facility that will alter to each team on game day. Jets will finally be an owner not a tenant and it will no longer be "Giants stadium"So there building two Stadiums? Since most teams tax the hel out of the locals to build stadiums, I would imagine most folks are pretty happy they held it down to one. Do you really need two stadiums in the same general area?So there building two Stadiums? No. That my friend is the problem.Jets are toooooo cheap.
I would think that it would be on Saturday and Sunday. Back in the 80s (I don't remember the exact year, around 85 I think) both teams hosted the wildcard game and that is the way it was handled then.It would be on Saturday and Sunday. Why? Giants and Jets Submit Plans for New Stadium
Teams unveil renderings at joint press conference
December 12, 2005
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Giants and Jets today took another step toward building a new jointly owned stadium next door to their existing home when Giants Stadium LLC and Jets Development LLC jointly submitted a preliminary Master Site Plan for the New Meadowlands Stadium and its surroundings to the New Jersey Sports Authority.
> VIEW SELECT RENDERINGS FROM THE JOINT PROPOSAL<
The stadium, which is expected to seat approximately 80,000 people, will be the centerpiece of one of the most innovative and memorable spectator environments in professional sports.
The parties continue to work on design and financing details for a project that could cost approximately $900 million. The teams hope to have details finalized by early next year, begin construction in 2007 and open the new stadium in 2010.
Yada-yada-yada...
A little half-field action - you guys stay on that end of the 50, we'll stay over here. =)I think they should play both games at once. It would be awesome to watch.
Jets never cross the 50 anywayslaxiepoo said:A little half-field action - you guys stay on that end of the 50, we'll stay over here. =)Stillers Jr. said:I think they should play both games at once. It would be awesome to watch.
Just picturing similar rules to half-court basketball: if the defense intercepted, would they have to take the ball back past the 50-yard line, then turn around and try to re-advance it toward the endzone they were just defending to return the INT for a TD?Play two "half-court" games at the same time. No kickoffs, instead it's like College OT, except they start from the 50.
Let me guess you live in New York.IF, that happened, and IF they both won, a NY vs. NY Superbowl would be a media frenzy the likes of which we have never seen. If it happens to be the year their new stadium opens, and thus the Superbowl may be hosted in NY as well, the NFL higher ups may collectively and simultaneously wet themselves. That, or the space time continuum would just fold over on itself.
And we still won more games than you, ####er.It's really no big deal.Converting GIANT STADIUM into the Jets home field takes literally 5 minutes. They just take a giant green bed sheet and drape it over the GIANT STADIUM logo out front. The Giants would get to have home field advantage in the Superdome.
So once the logos are converted in 5 minutes, then all they have to worry about is the minor detail of clearing the stadium of 80,000 people in preparation for game 2. I can't imagine they'd be able to play both on the same day, but they might have to with the way the tv deals are setup. Nope, not even close really. And I am a Redskins fan, so I could care less about either team. But I was witness to the "Subway Series" between the Mets and Yankees. I would guess that the Super Bowl would garner a bit more interest than that.Let me guess you live in New York.IF, that happened, and IF they both won, a NY vs. NY Superbowl would be a media frenzy the likes of which we have never seen.
