Hopefully the rest of the league goes "code red" on both you two and gives you your shared winnings via socks full of quarters when they find out.

Yeah, I can't tell if it's serious or not. And even if SSOG wasn't, seems like some others agree. I don't get it, myself. Splitting a pot doesn't give you an unfair advantage over other teams. It doesn't even really change the league payout, since the in theory league still pays out normally and then the teams exchange cash between themselves afterwards. It's also pretty normal practice in poker, etc..Interesting to see that some people disagree. I'm particularly amazed by the people who seem really upset over the idea. I had no idea this was so contentious an issue. For example:Quite the successfultrip for SSOG here.

I have posted a pole on our website. I think the one thing I'm seeing here is that if chopping it happens, be transparent about it. If the league feels differently than we do they have the right to voice it.
I don't see any need for that. Who cares what the rest of the league thinks? The money isn't going to them either way. A poll sounds like a good way to cause trouble, IMO. But, if you've already posted it, let's just hope nobody decides to vote against you for ####s and giggles.
Call me what you want, but unlike all of the other people in week 16 championships, I will be calm as a sleeping baby on Sunday. No worrying, no fretting. If I win, awesome, I'm a sb champ. If I lose, I make as much as the sb winner did. So I stil win. No more fretting about my lineup decisions. It takes all the worry out of it. This is very much like chopping the pot in poker.
In a cash game, when there are two players left in a hand, they can split the pot however they want because it doesn't affect anybody else.
In a tournament, players cannot split a pot because that does affect the other players. But when there are two players left in the tournament, they can split the prize pool however they want because it doesn't affect anyone else. (The split can also occur with more than two players; the deal just has to be unanimous among all the players remaining. Why would it be any different in fantasy football? Any rule can be changed at any time if all owners agree unanimously. When there are only two owners left vying for 1st and 2nd prize, unanimity requires only those two votes.)

To each his own but I gamble to win money, I play fantasy football to win championships. It's more important that I win the title, engrave my name on the trophy and have bragging rights for another year to ridicule the other inept owners that i have beaten on the way to a championship. I don't even know how much I'm going to win, and I don't care. My opponent does though, so he's already lost the game IMO. The fantasy gods are always watching.

If that is really what you believe then...well, I don't know what to say to that. Do you also believe that Santa Claus brings you presents through your chimney every Xmas eve? Just curious. LolThere are no fantasy gods. My matchup will go exactly the way it is supposed to regardless of whether or not we split the pot. I'm all about winning a championship. It never gets old for me. But I'd rather go into championship week with some good money locked up regardless of the outcome, that way I'm a winner no matter the outcome. It's very similar to a hedge in the stock mkt or when you put in a straddle while trading options. It's a way to lock in your profits, albeit it limited (meaning you guarantee yoursel to make a little less money than you would have if you won but you guarantee yourself a higher floor of winnings if you lose). It's pretty simple logic, really. Fantasy football is so dependent on luck. Especially web it's one and done in the playoffs. And here is a prime example of why you take the split. My opponent had Matt Ryan and Calvin tonight. Hung a big lead on me. Ask me if I care? Yes, I do, but only slightly, since I win the same money of I win or lose. I will sleep easy tonight. Good luck tomorrow guys!
