What you looking for in tonight's Pre-season Games? (1 Viewer)

It's finally here! A schedule of games, in earnest, over the next few days.

Here's what we got tonight.

Washington at Buffalo 7:00 pm WKBW Ralph Wilson Stadium

Pittsburgh at Philadelphia 7:30 pm KDKA Lincoln Financial Field

New Orleans at New England 7:30 pm CST Gillette Stadium

Baltimore at Atlanta 7:30 pm Georgia Dome

Green Bay at San Diego 8:00 pm ESPN Qualcomm Stadium

Denver at Chicago 8:30 pm KTVD Soldier Field

So, what are you guys going to be looking at and what (if any) significant predictions might you have as a result of tonight's games?

I thik the obvious one is I expect a lot of people to be watching to see Peyton manning tonight to try to get an inkling of the FF benefits there.

My prediciton: After tonight, there are going to be A LOT of people talking about Jacob Tamme trades, Brandon Lloyd trades, and "what the heck" is up with Robert Meachum?

Just keeping it to a homer perspective (Packers) - curious to see how long Rodgers plays with the issue at LT, what will the line look like in general, will Capers keep it basic (I liked what I saw from the D from Family Night Scrimmage)and what are the DB formations. Most importantly, can the team get back home without adding injuries (17 or 18 guys possibly out tonight?).

From a fantasy perspective (league wide) - I don't put much stock in the first pre-season game for the regular starters. I do look to see if rookies/2nd year guys are playing within the scheme and how they look in general. I take note of some of the items you mentioned below (not those guys per se) and hope to find buy low/sell high opportunities. Tis the season for that.

From a fan perspective - glad to have kickoff!!! (Saints/Cards aside and no disrespect for that game or their fans).

Chargers game....I imagine only one series for Rivers. No LT Gaither tonight, and they are starting a undrafted rookie Michael Harris from UCLA at LT instead. I imagine Clay Matthews will destroy him...no need to get Rivers killed on preseason game 1.

Expect heavy run game from the Bolts instead. They will showcase pass once Gaither is back.

Also expect rookie defensive Chargers players (Ingram, Reyes, Taylor) to get a long look)

yeah, lots of interest from me on those two fronts. Also interested in the whole Saftey/CB use but I doubt I'll see anything tonight that I'm smart enough to read tea leaves on.

Washington at Buffalo 7:00 pm WKBW Ralph Wilson Stadium Both RB situations. Also curious to see Griffin play, and if he plays Leonard Hankerson.

Pittsburgh at Philadelphia 7:30 pm KDKA Lincoln Financial Field Nothing in particular. Perhaps a better look at Redman/Dwyer.

New Orleans at New England 7:30 pm CST Gillette Stadium Curious to see how much people will over react to who Brady's favorite target is in this game (for the series he's in)

Baltimore at Atlanta 7:30 pm Georgia Dome Want to see if Boldin has anything left in the tank and whether Torrey Smith can be more than just a speed guy. Want to see if Atlanta switches to a Zone blocking scheme that Koetter used in Jacksonville, and what effect it has on Turner/Rodgers.

Green Bay at San Diego 8:00 pm ESPN Qualcomm Stadium Want to see Alex Green run, and Cobb usage. How healthy does Gates look. Does Vincent Brown have starter talent? Eddie Royal in the slot.

Denver at Chicago 8:30 pm KTVD Soldier Field Obviously Manning and his timing with Decker and Thomas. Would like to see if Hillman can pass block well enough to get on the field.

FF aside, I can't wait to see Peyton Manning call an audible and zip a pass into a tight window. NFL is better with him in it.

Washington at Buffalo - WR situation in Wash and WR2 situation in Buf. Also nice to get a first look at RG3.

Pittsburgh at Philadelphia - Pitt Oline, particularly the rookies.

New Orleans at New England - NO RBs and NE rookies on D.

Baltimore at Atlanta - blah, not much I'm looking for here.

Green Bay at San Diego - GB running game and M. Ingram.

Denver at Chicago - Manning and Marshall/Jeffery

Lots of my favorite rookie sleepers will be in action:Gerell Robinson, WR, DenverEdwin Baker, RB, San DiegoTJ Graham, WR, BillsThis could be an important night for Robinson and Baker, since they aren't locks to make the roster. Very curious to see if either can step up. Also curious to see how some 2011 draftees like Quizz, Dion Lewis, and Mallett perform.

Love the Bills, but RG3 is going to show everyone what up with only 2-3 series on the field.

Get cha cornbread ready!

This is a good list. I'll just add a few:-how much FJax and Spiller are on the field together (how much time Spiller gets at WR).-what the WR rotation looks like in Washington and if RG3 has any early chemistry with a specific guy-what the run/pass ratio looks like in Pitt. with a new OC-If Brandon Lloyd looks like he'll be a big part of the offense-Boldin/Torrey Smith, does is look like Torrey is emerging as a true #1 or closer to 50/50 targets-Does Starks get all of the RB reps with the 1s?-How do the new WRs in SD look like they'll fit into the offense?-Is Demaryius or Decker Peyton's go-to guy?

I don't think a few series will tell us this :)

The Patriots aren't going to show much in the preseason, especially in the first game. Brady will probably play one series and you're going to see a lot of Gaffney, Stallworth, Slater, etc.
