Not an infomercial - but I did buy a shamwow and an amaing knife set from a Home and Garden show. :bag:

Nope. That shrinking hose I keep seeing does look pretty useful though
They're garbage and break and/or spring leaks easily.
Mine has worked pretty great for 3 years or so

It was by TomCare from Amazon, but I can't seem to find it any longer...

ETA: This is it, but it's out of stock

I am not sure I have ever seen anything on an infomercial that I have ever wanted to purchase. The george foreman grill might be useful in some circumstances, ie college dorm room.

25-27 years ago…was in my 8th-10th year of chronic insomnia, used to watch this Golf Channel infomercial. Pitch man was a member of the Champions (neé Senior) Tour, product was a fairly large cc Driver with a graphite shaft. Probably watched that thing (or parts of it) 10x, finally ordered one.

Wasn’t a particularly good club IIRC, probably picked a stiffer shaft than I needed, made my driving so unreliable I started using my 3W most holes. About 10-12 rounds, in the head came flying off after a tee shot on a par 5.

I walked off the tee with the shaft in hand, picked up the club head along the way. There was a water hazard along the left side of the fairway - threw the shaft & the club head into the pond. Don’t think I’d ever thrown a club in my life (& haven’t since.)

$150 IIRC

No. Growing up my best friends family bought EVERYTHING that ever came out. Woks, the flowbee, home tanning stations, etc…

They rarely lived up to the hype.

I have not purchased anything from an infomercial so I voted no. However, I have bought some something from the "As seen on TV" store in the mall. So technically I have bought something that was from an infomercial but it wasn't through the infomercial.

Oh and flex seal tape DOES NOT WORK! I got some from Home Depot when I had a pin hole leak in my copper water supply line. I thought it should work good enough to get me through the night until I could get a plumber over the next morning and it wouldn't stick to the copper (even though it specifically lists copper as a something it works on). It was super sticky until it got wet. Then it was useless.

I think the whole infomercial industry is based on people buying it once - they never seem to work as advertised.

didn't there used to be a terrible chain store called As Seen on TV?

i only saw it in malls occasionally, and I probably haven't knowingly entered a mall more than 4-5 times in the last 25 years.

Voted no. I've never seen a product on TV, and then called the number on the screen to place an order for it, but I've bought crap from the As Seen on TV aisle at Walmart, or recognized and bought an item in a store as having been in an infomercial that I've seen.

@The General That shrinking hose works...for a year. Bought one for Grandma once because she can't really handle lifting/rolling up a heavy hose anymore but she loves watering all her flowers and potted plants on her patio. The shrinking one is light, so she can spray all the water out of it, and easily maneuver it into the empty flower pot she uses to store it. Every spring she pulls it out for the first time, it leaks from all joints, and she trashes it and buys another one.

:bag: Back in the early 90's when I came home from the bars I'd usually watch Beavis and Butthead but occasionally I'd get roped into an infomercial. I remember the newspaper grill that **** Butkus was hawking, didn't fall for that one. The one I got suckered into was CDs. I believe it was Time Life Sounds of the 70,s where a cheesy couple would be on TV playing songs from a particular year say 1975...all the greatest hits. Drunk me fell for that hook, line and sinker but I didn't remember signing up until CD's started showing up in the mail. They had good songs on it so I accepted the first couple then the credit card bill came. Cancelled immediately think I have 3 random years down in my box of useless discs.

Yes there was. The ASOTV has space allocated in many grocery stores now.

We recently bought a couple of the Xhose Pro from Menards. So far, they're working great ..so much nicer than trying to coil up a regular hose. Setting a sprinkler is a little tricky due to a shut-off valve on the nozzle end.

Not from an infomercial but we have picked up a few things at thrift stores that were originally sold through infomercial
