What's the Story With Your Avatar? (1 Viewer)

i had a couple other names/aliases on here a few times and some leaguemates would always be like, hey are you so and so on FBG? this was usually after asking trade advice, etc. so finally i just made my name something they all knew as my college nickname. to really make it blatant, i used part of a ff logo i helped a guy create for his team (but not my team) because i thought it looked weird and would stand out as being really obviously me to my leaguemates who were lurking. did it more as a joke, but it kinda stuck. not a very interesting story, but there ya go.

I think I was just playing around with MS Paint a few years ago, and then I was like, "Ooh, there's a font called Comic Sans? That sounds hilarious!!"

Some co-workers and I were sitting around talking about soda made with real sugar and how it's superior to HFCS. One guy pointed out that Kosher Coke was made with real sugar and since it was a slow day at the office we decided to go on a hunt for Kosher Coke. We went to several stores and came up empty. On the drive back I exclaim, "I've got Kosher Coke blue balls."

Shortly after we get back that photo of a Hasidic Jew holding Kosher Coke was found and shortly after that the demotivator was created:

KOSHER COKE BLUE BALLS

This guy doesn't have them

Dating back to 1765, the South Carolina State Flag reminds us of its role in the American Revolution and maintains its place in the annals of the Civil War with a design that was formulated as a National banner when the state seceded from the union on December 20, 1860.

Components of the current state flag were first seen in 1765, on a banner carried by South Carolina protesters of the Stamp Act. The banner that the protesters hoisted displayed three white crescents on a blue background. Ten years later in 1775, Colonel William Moultrie was asked by the South Carolina Revolutionary Council of Safety to design a banner for the use of South Carolina troops. Colonel Moultrie chose a simple and direct design that displayed a crescent on a blue field. The new flag was the same blue color of the soldier's uniforms and the crescent echoed the symbol that the soldiers wore on the front of their caps.

Almost 100 years later, South Carolina seceded from the Union it had fought to create. A new banner was needed to fly above the newly created nation. Many designs were reviewed but the General Assembly settled on one simple change to Moultrie's Revolutionary War design. A Palmetto tree was added and centered on the blue field. The Palmetto, the South Carolina State Tree, had been attributed as instrumental in Colonel Moultrie's defense of Sullivan's Island against an attack by British warships in June, 1776. Cannonballs fired at the fort from the British ships could not destroy the walls of the fort which were built of Palmetto logs. Instead, the cannonballs simply sank into the soft, tough Palmetto wood.

How do you explain your lack of credentials when judging a serious post from a blatantly ridiculous one?

Well I liked Bloom County. Opus was my favorite character. I like science fact and fiction. Just seemed like a good fit. I occasionally consider changing it but it just wouldn't seem right. Not to mention how poorly you guys deal with change.

My other username had Myron Cope but he's on vacation still. This one illustrates my passion for women cramming things in their noses.

I like Popeye and the avatar has a nostalgia value for me. Plus he was my grandpa's favorite cartoon character. I know, mind blowing stuff here.

I disregard orders, use violence to solve problems, and am reckless, exceptionally tough and aggressive.

I cant make out what it says. Which movie?
Koyaanisqatsi.
Wow, I thought you were making that word up.This movie looks weird. Something my gf would be in to. Whats it about?
Koyaanisqatsi is a Hopi Indian word for life out of balance, a way of life that calls for another way of living.

It is not a story nor script, but rather imagery and video set to a dramatic score by the Phillip Glass orchestra.

Essentially a picture of modernity, destroying the earth, each other. A juxtaposition of nature and technology. Really stunning.

Filmed in the early ages it is now very much of its era but just as powerful a message, today. But I'm the context of the Cold War and nuclear proliferation, a Hopi proverb that is powerfully and darkly sung was/is all too potentially prophetic:

"If we dig precious things from the land, we will invite disaster."

"Near the day of Purification, there will be cobwebs spun back and forth in the sky."

"A container of ashes might one day be thrown from the sky, which could burn the land and boil the oceans."
my girlfriend drug me to see that movie when it came out in 82. great film.

It's a picture of Hastur I found on Google.

Hastur is "He who must not be named", which is a character in books written by H.P. Lovecraft.

My original persona on here was banned, so I figured 'he who must not be named' was ok for anonymous internet posting.
what were you banned for?
