What's the Story With Your Avatar? (1 Viewer)

I disregard orders, use violence to solve problems, and am reckless, exceptionally tough and aggressive.
I dont think thats fair to Rambo. He just wanted to live a life of peaceful wandering and did what he had to do when provoked.

Any one of us would have done the same.

It's a tick. I grew up in an area that has no ticks, and they're pretty creepy, so I got mocked mercilessly during a college camping trip for being afraid of them. Formed a soccer team with some of the guys from the trip and called the team Ticks as a joke... it's been my screen name ever since. It was surprisingly hard to find a good tick picture on da web back in 1999, this is what I could find.

I always saw that as some olde timey bare knuckle boxing guy. Now I know
Same here, that kind of blew my mind.
Always thought it looked like the character on the cover of Mad Magazine.
His name is Alfred E. Neuman.

It's Kate Upton as seen by Otis.

Yours is from what is probably my favorite Star Trek episode.

"A Vulcan would not cry out so."
 :tebow: That is a pretty freaking awesome catch, RN. You even got the quote verbatim. "Now can you cry like Lincoln?"

And I like that one too: as a kid watching for the first time and even now on rewatch, I don't have the same sweeping issues with TOS Season Three as so many others did. It contains some of my overall faves.

Really a great episode. I loved the camaraderie in defeating the bad guys, and it was cool the reverence Kirk had for "President Lincoln" even though he clearly knew his likeness was manufactured.

"James.... stay back" was a huge bummer of a scene.

Right on. The usual Internet jockeys reviewing** "The Savage Curtain" all offer the same half-baked criticisms: it's a remake of "Arena" from Season One, the idea of Abe Lincoln on a starship is silly, the plot device of all-powerful aliens stopping the Enterprise and acting out a morality play had been done several times, etc. But the action is really good, the character development for Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Scotty was excellent, and the actors playing the historical figures with lines (Lincoln, Surak, Kahless, and yes . . . Colonel Green) were all very good. The rock-creature-in-chief was spooky too. I love when Kirk tries to punch it.

**Partly because of the recent releases of the remastered DVD versions, there are probably seven or eight sets of detailed reviews of the full slate of TOS episodes out there, all posted within the last 2-4 years or so.

Well that went full-blown nerd quickly.

The 66 in my user name goes back to my name on an old backgammon server, which was doublesix. Originally jad a white pair of doublesix. Switched to purple b/c of Shiny with the help of a FBG who found the pic of a single purple die. Made it two dice via paint. When I did the tile feature it came out like this, which actually looked better so I kept it.

It's a picture of Hastur I found on Google.

Hastur is "He who must not be named", which is a character in books written by H.P. Lovecraft.

My original persona on here was banned, so I figured 'he who must not be named' was ok for anonymous internet posting.
what were you banned for?
Oh, I'd really rather not go into that her:e:.
well then give us a summary in the to thread. your fans are waiting.

Relic from my time iDating... this particular young lass liked to send cleavage pics. Was smart and never sent anything with her face.

BTW - they're real, and they're spectacular :P

Well I liked Bloom County. Opus was my favorite character. I like science fact and fiction. Just seemed like a good fit. I occasionally consider changing it but it just wouldn't seem right. Not to mention how poorly you guys deal with change.
Love the Opus...never change. Partly b/c I love the Opus, and partly b/c I would never recognize your posts anymore...

I got tired of the Batman kissing Robin cartoon that you fools voted as my avatar in the last "Fat Nick Needs a New Avatar" thread. I figured that after a few years of homosexual innuendos, I needed something distinctly heterosexual.

So I chose a cat.

With his tail as his dong.

Clearly looking for ladies.
