What's With The New Republican Emphasis On Posing Armed Or Making Campaign Commercials Touting Armaments? (1 Viewer)

Wait, are people suggesting that there are only a couple politicians who use guns as props in promotional and campaign material?  Because during election season in Texas, probably half of the GOP candidates (and even a Democrat here and there) do this.

Well yeah, in Texas.

;)

I saw a car the other day with professionally stenciled on the back window "Trump 2024, make libs cry again".   Then there was the whole liberal tears thing.  So, I agree.

ETA

Until recently I wouldn't be classified as a liberal but seeing innocent people murdered certainly makes me want to cry.  That there's a large part of our population that not only refuse to do anything from preventing it happening again, but want even looser gun laws, makes me want to cry more.
Saying you want looser (or tighter) gun laws now is like saying you don't want your pants to be any looser when they have already fallen down around your ankles.

We were at a ma and pa pizza place in AZ sitting outside.  The owner came up and started talking to us about the town, etc., as he walked away we could see what appeared to be a 9mm pistol strapped to his side.  No big deal to me, growing up in MN and WI guns were a way of life for most people I knew.  But our friends from CA freaked out, like they had never seen a gun  before-in their life.  So I guess your attitude towards guns depends were you come from.

Did you quickly drive them to a safe space?

What a bunch of feathery, delicate ice crystals.

The shark move is to send nativity scene cards.  If they are offended, take them off your list.  Look at the money you’ll save.

Haha that works.

And I always thought posing with guns is dumb to begin with.  Not only is that ameteur and dumb, you also lose the element of surprise.  Now EVERYONE knows you have guns and will prepare accordingly during the zombie apocalypse when they come for you.

The ironic thing is if they send cards of a nativity scene, people will be offended by that also.
Not really...at least not close to the same insensitive and foolish nature of posing your family with guns.

Of course there will always be some offended by anything...but a Christmas card with a nativity would not get near the criticism of this...not even close.

But who are they sending them to?  Probably people who share the same interests or people who know they are interested in guns and shrug it off.  If some media hack is offended, good.

Except they aren't just sending them as cards to family and friends.  They're posting them on social media with the express intent of trolling liberals.  See Boebert, Lauren.

Key piece of the puzzle.

Long story short, we are at the point where people just get upset or complain about almost anything the other side does.  It's hard to walk back from this point of SM and putting stuff out there for reactions, at least I am to the point where I think that's not the point a majority of the time.   Bad enough when teens are doing it, I'm just a little surprised at how much elected officials do it now.

I wish you were wrong, but I agree.

Photo circulating of SD governor Noem with a shotgun and holding three dead pheasants.  Can’t wait for someone to spin it as being disrespectful to the deceased pheasants.  Her popularity is at an all time high so she should survive the press.
