What's wrong with Oswalt? (1 Viewer)

Someone just offered me this trade, and I can't understand why. Is there anything wrong w/ Oswalt? He was like the 2nd or 3rd pitcher taken in my draft, and now this guy wants to unload him. Does he know something I don't?

It's only 2 starts, but Oswalt has looked very good, and I would have taken him before Halladay in the draft if available. I can't decide if I should pull the trigger.

Both are excellent pithcers. I can see a case being made either way. I'd go with Oswalt but that's just because I've watched him a ton and root for the Astros.

Oswalt is far more likely to stay healthy and will likely k 40-50 more batters than Halladay. Pretty one sided battle of ace's. Hope you took this deal while you could.

Let's see.....Halladay will probably have to face the Red Sox & Yankees about 8 times this year.

Oswalt gets the Reds/Pirates/Cubs/Cards for a majority of his starts.

Hmmmmmmmmm

4 of the past 5 years Oswalt's pitched 220+ innings

Career high WHIP of 1.245, career WHIP of 1.17

Career ERA 3.02

Halladay has pitched over 220 innings only 3 times in his career

Career WHIP of 1.231

Career ERA of 3.63

And Oswalt's K/IP is quite a bit higher than Halladay's .84 to .71

Oswalt is a flat out better pitcher than Halladay.

I've found nothing that indicates there's anything wrong with Oswalt, so I went ahead and accepted the trade. The only negative with RO is that he pitches half his games in that bandbox in Houston, but it's not like it has adversely affected him in the past.

Since I had RO rated higher on my draft board than RH, this seems like a no brainer. Let's hope he stays healthy.
