when can released players sign? (1 Viewer)

I assume its today but wanted to be sure.

My #1 question is if the Packers are going to pursue Charles Rogers or Peter Warrick. Both would be upgrades - id rather have Rogers but Warrick could also return Punts - something this team desperatly needs.

How does this work? Let's say I am a GM and have 5 guys I want to put claims in on. However, I'm prepared to only "accept" 2 or 3 of them due to roster limitations.

The problem is, I could lose all 5 that I claim if none make it down to me in waivers.

On the other hand, if I claim a few extras for that reason, then if I get them all, does that mean I have to sign them all? If so, does that mean I have to release someone from my current 53 or can I just "take a pass" on them?

All all waiver claims submitted today all processed "simultaneously"?

Waiver claims must be made by 12 noon EST today.
Its my understanding that waiver claims can ONLY be made on players with LESS THAN FOUR YEARS IN THE LEAGUE. Then they are awarded to teams based on last years record. All players who were cut and have 4 or more years in teh league - they become instant Unrestricted Free Agents. Charles Rogers - Waiver claim - worst recordPeter Warrick - UFA - highest bidder
