When do you target DLs in a redraft? (1 Viewer)

I'm in a 12 team IDP PPR redraft

I loved having consistent DLs and I know a lot of owners were jealous because I was fielding (and rejecting) trade offers from them every week. I want to ensure I get studs (J Allen and M Williams) this year and I'm not sure when to pull the trigger. I have the #10 slot, so I'm thinking late 7th/early 8th but I know a few owners will recall how primo my DLs were so they may try to adopt a similar strategy and snipe them. Is jumping on them in the late 5th/early 6th way too soon?

I don't think the 5th/6th is too soon if you feel you can get good depth elsewhere anyway. I've been strongly advocating a stud DL strategy this year because of the weakness of the later tiers. If you must have those two DL, you'll probably want to reach a little. The top tier is deep enough that you could risk waiting a little longer and grabbing Cole/Tuck/Suggs/Peppers type talent at the 7th/8th if somebody snipes you on the two studs.

I agree. There is only about 15 or so DE's that look nice this year and that does not leave many for other teams. Just doing the IDP and it seemed like that there. Supply and Demand and with so many teams going to 3-4, the DE is becoming a scarce commodity.
