who has a better career, and why?

do any of these guys become elite players at their postion, and who do you find more likely to overcome their slow start?

Davis is already a stud who is currently being mismanaged by Mike Martz.

Mercedes Lewis is becoming a liability to the Jags (drops, not getting open, blocking). He may turn out to be a good NFL player, but his "emergence" hasn't happened yet.

When V.D. finishes his contract and goes to a team that has a QB, a coordinator who knows how to utilize his skill set, and plays for a team who isn't alway trying to come from behind. He will finally put the numbers up he expects.

Playing for a Martz run offensive scheme this year, last year with no QB, and Frank Gore and 20+ point deficit's don't bode well for him.
