You are 100% false in your statement. Jacobs barely played in September, so it would be impossible to realize his deficiencies for FF that he showed in that month.
So if we go by your new logic as stated above, the original poster was correct in completely forgetting about using September to judge Jacobs.
1) He wasn't getting receptions in October, so we know Ward is the receiving RB of choice.
I guess the 6 receptions for 24 yards that Jacobs had in October just didn't happen in your world, huh H.K.?
2) He wasn't getting 1 yard TD plunges in October, so we know Droughns is the GL RB.
Last game Giants played before their bye they were 1st & Goal from the 5 & ended up being 4th & Goal from the 3. Jacobs was the gGoal Line back for that entire series, Droughns never set foot on the field.
Against San Fran on a 1st & Goal from the 5...
1-5-SF5 (6:24) B.Jacobs right tackle for 5 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
Yup...sure looks like Droughns is the dedicated Goal Line back to me...
3) He wasn't the full time 3 down RB in October, from points one and two
Jacobs 1st game back from his sprained knee
Jacobs 20 carries
Ward 13 carries
Droughns 2 carries
Win for the Giants 35 - 24
Jacobs 2nd game back from his knee injury
Jacobs 14 carries
Ward 13 carries
Droughns 8 carries
Blowout win for the Giants 31 - 10
Jacobs 3rd game back from his knee injury
Jacobs 18 carries
Ward 7 carries
Droughns 5 carries
Blowout win for the Giants 33 - 15
Jacobs 4th game back from his knee injury
Jacobs 23 carries
Droughns 8 carries
Win for the Giants 13 - 10
In this game no RB except for Jacobs, was on the field for Goal to Go situations.
In this game no RB except for Jacobs, was targeted in the passing game
There is a pattern developing here H.K. & it seems that for whatever reason, you are unable to discern it.
4) All September showed us was that Jacobs lacks the fortitude to play through minor discomfort.
A sprained MCL is a tad more than minor discomfort for anybody. For a RB, who torques his knee when making cuts & must withstand substantial punishment in tackling the discomfort level rises far beyond minor discomfort. Also, the Giants were not interested in having their best back being trotted out there with an MCL sprain & have it aggravated at the least, or completely torn at the worst, thus losing Jacobs for the year.
Extremely assinine comment on your part H.K.
