Hence his "not likely but speculation"IF in the small chance he is traded, it would depend what team he went to. I think he's worthy of an early 2nd rounder on the lions. He isn't going to be traded.
Let's entertain the discussion. If the staff can write a series of "what if" articles, why can't we pose what if questions on the message board? If he gets traded, I value him around mid to late second. He'll still have all the effects from missed training camp and on top of that, will have to learn a new system. I have him valued there now and he hasn't fallen to any of my teams. If MJD is traded today (not likely just speculation) to the Lions, Packers or Patriots, where would you draft him?
I agree if I were the Lions I would be working the phones right now. Leshoure looks like he cant stay healthy and Jahvid Best is 1 hit away from scrambled eggs as brains. That offense is already scary but can you imagine adding a running game threat also?'Leroy Hoard said:The Lions would be a perfect fit.

Fourth overall???I would take him at 4 for the lions.
no need for creativity. he's not going to be traded this season.aren't you creative'Abraham said:He isn't going to be traded.
A fourth or fifth round if my team had need at RB. But I wouldn't resign him... so I'd probably face the same holdout situation that Jax faces. Fortunately my team has a good RB, so they probably won't overspend on an aging RB. Unfortunately, my team is already the sort of team that wastes a top ten pick on an RB and they're not very good.An interesting question is, if you were you're favorite team's GM, what would you give for MJD (if anything at all)? I'm guessing not much. Team's with really good offenses know they don't need MJD. Team's with bad offenses have bad QBs and aren't going anywhere, so they would be dumb to trade for MJD and pay him.
Why? Nobody is accounting for him needing to learn Mularkey's system is he ends his holdout tomorrow. If nothing else, a trade would mean that he has to learn a new team's system. We should account for that also.
