scoring system is typically helpful here...PPR #7non PPR #8no, i would not take him over LJ.

Ninth or tenth in nonPPR. What's so special about him that would put him in the top 5? IDNY Off - ok...what else?

That Indianapolis offense is a big reason for liking Joseph Addai's prospects. The fact that he was ranked 11th (2 points out of the top 10) last season despite starting 0 games in 2006 while having touches and touchdowns leeched from Dominic Rhodes (who has now departed for Oakland) certainly helps. He's a pretty talented player who averaged 4.8 yards per rush as well as catching 40 passes last season. Addai seems to be in a situation similar to Willie Parker was this time last season. Which was that of a talented runner on a good offense flourishing while becoming the main ballcarrier piling up touchdowns and yardage. Of course you didn't have to use a first round pick on Willie Parker last year. And the fact remains that Joseph Addai hasn't done it yet. We've seen flashes such as his 4TD game against the Eagles but not yet an entire season of greatness. It sucks that you have to use a 1st round pick to get him but if it works out I won't be complaining.Ninth or tenth in nonPPR. What's so special about him that would put him in the top 5? I still cant believe how high people are on this guy when he's never ever carried a full load on any team and has had a hard time staying healthy in the past

That's true. But I'm one of those guys. He looked good in that offense last year and there's no reason to think he can't carry the load. In a PPR I don't see anyone else who stands out after LT and SJ. LJ is on a crappy team and doesn't seem happy. Westbrook is treated like a part-timer and has had health issues himself. I could see putting Gore ahead of Addai, except I just have a bad feeling about Gore. I think Parker won't carry as much of the load this year, and that team isn't going to be the same without Cowher imo. I'm wrong a lot, so this could be another time. But Addai seems like a first rounder to me, and easily top five.

LT, SJax, LJ are my top 3.
After that, I'm gonna need a bit more pre-season info under my belt to come up
with the final order of the next few guys: Gore, Parker, Addai, SAlex, Rudi, Westbrook.
Gore, SAlex and Westbrook all scare me for injury reasons.
Parker and Rudi I feel "safest" with.
Addai is a wild card for me right now.

i've been looking back through the stats and i can't find a single player that's ever carried a full load without being given the chance to carry a full load. interesting....look at all the RBs you have ranked ahead of him and count how many had a better rookie year than Addai

That bad feeling about Gore, could you please let us know how the Foiuk you come up with that "FEELING" two knee surgeries later and a couple of thousand yards and your worried about injuries?. With the exception of a few cronic injured players the injury prone BS is near myth. I would worry about LT(due and overworked) long before I would bet that those two Bionic knees of Gore give out. ADDAI!! wow some wild speculation based on crap. He is the primary ball carrier for one of the most dynamic offenses in the league. He averages more than 4 yards a carry. He has had an entire year to get into football shape. So on Addai I agree with you, the dude gets the oppertunity to be the GUY? - I would put him in the top ten. You guys and that F-in injury BS, Fragile Fred, and any Titans WR I would get a little nervous about, Gore has already had the week pieces replaced and will be just fine.
i guess you're an idiot to think Gore is past his injury woes. Look at each game last year.

Just to be sure, he's had 2 complete injury free years. He's carried the majority load (although RBBC) for an NFL team and demonstrated he can get the job done. He was highly successful in the playoffs and the Super Bowl against some of the best defenses in the NFL. And now he's getting the opportunity to carry it 300+ for one of the best offenses in the NFL. Maybe that's why some are so high on him. Other than that I don't know.
Nothing wrong with ranking a RB a little lower until he proves the ability. In a PPR league, I have Addai about the same tier as Westbrook, slightly ahead of Parker and SAlexander, but behind LT2, LJ, SJax and Gore.

Took him #8 in a start-up dynasty draft last month (PPR) - over Westbrook mainly due to age.
#5 might be a little high in a non PPR or re-draft league, but it's at least possible (even if not yet proven) he can perform @ that ADP if he gets 300+ touches. Addai could be completely average this season, and his floor should be around 1k and 10tds - mainly due to playing in Indy.

I have him #6 in PPR & #8 in non-PPR
I don't even think Addai is that talented, but the Indy RB no longer in committee is the most choice spot you can have a RB in. NEVER 8 in the box equals 2000 total yards and 12 scores minimum.
In a non PPR I would take Addai 6 or 7
In a PPR I would bump him up to 3. I smell 65-70 Catches.

His injury history? In case there are people out there that read things on message boards and take them for gospel... Joseph Addai has played in 51 straight games (NFL and College). Now there were games where he wasnt completely healthy and didnt do much, but he DID PLAY in all of these games. This is dating all the way back to the 2003 season. It's not like he's blown out a knee or something. I dont know about anyone else, but I'm not ready to use phrases like "injury history" or "injury prone" with Joseph Addai just yet. I'm reserving that for players who miss games because of being injured.

It is what it is. I said I had a bad feeling about Gore. Part of fantasy football is going with your gut, you know. It isn't all stats. If I have a bad feeling about a player, I avoid him. Feel free to draft him and win your league and bump this thread when he rushes for 3000 yards and 42 TDs. I'll congratulate you for your shrewd decision-making. I just don't feel good about Gore this year. On paper it looks good, but I see him under-performing in the games he plays in, and missing games, too. Sorry.

I would agree that people sometimes take things as the gospel.As for those saying Addai isn't that talented, I don't understand the basis for it. He may lack the explosiveness or breakaway speed of other RBs, but he's got a very solid all-around skill set that will keep him on the field.. Sounds pretty talented to me.

Nope, but neither did Addai. As a matter of fact, he only had one major injury his entire career at LSU. It was an ankle, his Senior season.
