So with Favre hanging it up, what do you think he'll do with himself now? He is arguable the biggest name/media darling to retire in quite some time and no doubt a network would throw a ton of money at him to have him as a commentator or pre-game panel member.

I think he would make a great color commentator a la Troy Aikman. While the instinct might be that he might just want to chill & relax, let's not forget that this is a man who loves the spotlight so much that for the last 2-3 years he has held an annual Will I or Won't I Retire Press Conference the week before the Super Bowl.

My guess is NBC chases him hard to put him in the booth with Madden.

I love Favre, but he's not articulate enough to be a commentator. He's not a very good public speaker, would be shocked if he goes into a television job.

When asked just that McCarthy and Thompson both laughed and McCarthy told the press to watch out if they try going over his fence that he might shoot them. LOL

As for loves the spotlight so much?

No...this is the guy that for the last 2 years has been hounded by the media to talk about retirement. Never called a will I or won't I press conference and even announced he was coming back before the Super Bowl last year.

Only one time did he take any large amount of time to decide (2 years ago).

So this annual thing is really pretty much BS.

That's why I think he'd be such a fit with Madden-Michaels. He could play off his aw-shucks good-ole-boy thing and get away without being the clearest or most articulate of speakers. Plus, next to Madden, he'd appear relatively cogent.

I'm thinking he will not have a regular T.V. gig but maybe a Thanksgiving or play-off "special guest" appearance.

He didn't this year because his team was actually playing in the NFCC game. But the two previous years I'm almost positive he held a press conference regarding his retirement. And just because people want to know the answer to a question, he don't have to hold a press conference to deliver it. You can issue it through a team PR statement or talk to a local reporter and give them the scoop.

He never held a press conference with a "will I or won't I" kind of thing. EVER.I think last year's was leaked through a small paper in Mississippi first. Its not a press conference when the media calls you and asks you things and you answer...that is what went on 2 years ago before the super bowl.Id love to actually see where he held any press conferences to discuss it.The only one ever called that people jumped on was his "annual" press conference at his golf tournament that people thought he was going to announce something at.
